Medical Cannabis NOOB GROWER FIRST TIME HELP

Hello all ive had my medical license for over 5 years now and am starting to get tired of paying for my meds , i want to start growing so i can save a shitload of cash i desparately need.

anyway..i thought about buying this


250 w Hortilux with 1 year warranty . prices at 120$ or something now will cost me 95 or 98$ .sound like something i should start with? i have a 20 % of entire store coupon at the green coast hydroponics store by my house..so i can get some $$ slashed off the prices for the stuff i need ;]]
I am gonna start with clones...I dont want to wait for the seed ... the collectives by me have some really nice looking clones and teens...thought about starting with 2 clones. dont overwhelm myself , and the clinic says if something happens to my clones within 30 days theyll exchange it for a new one..no questions asked..i was gonna grab a white berry clone and a blue dream , simply because im a sativa guy and i want more medicine to be yielded.

the berry white is dj shorts blueberry x white widow and the blue dream is blueberry x haze..

so what s everything i need to buy.?? i know pots , soil and of course organic pestisides and a pH checker...but what else??? whats EVERYTHING i will need to be doing a indoor grow?? please and thank you for your help and time guys:joint::joint:

Pots, Dirt, Nutrients, PH check and adjust, Fan for air circulation. Light of course.
Later to keep the growing going you will need tray+dome, rockwool, rooting gel for cloning.

You might want to go with a 400 watt system, the prices really aren't that much different and if they are go find a better store. But watch the ballast some of them are really expensive which will change the price.

You're going to need nutrients, some reflective stuff preferably mylar or flat white paint, an inline fan, and some perlite and vermiculite to mix in your soil even if you use fox farm etc.

have any of you purchased things from them?? ok well so you think i sould go with a 400 w instead? i was just thinking because the 250 w was more in my price range but i am sure i could maybe find another one ..but lets say i couldnt for shits and giggles..you think id have trouble with the 250 w Hortilux? will it really make that big of a difference switching from a 250 w to a 400 w?

ps: also i heard Miracle grow is a bad idea..or are they bullshitting me because im a noob?? lol:-?


i called the store they say they have a 400 w Oracle plant max

180$ 1 year warranty..might get that instead.

sound better than the 250 w hortilux?? you think itll make a big difference??

You won't have any problem with 250 watt but you'll produce more bud with a 400 watt system. All the hydro stores I've gone to suggested at least 400 watt, some said I shouldn't go below 600.

For nutrients just look into General Hydroponics, or Advanced Nutrients. You can use hydroponic nutrients on any soil plant so don't worry. They are 3 part systems and each will run you about $15 each. Since you're in soil you can get away with no nutrients in vegetation but you're going to need and want nutrients for flowering because its the most important part of the plant period.

Miracle grow can be good but most will say stay away. You just need to know which one to use. I believe theres a thread on it in the newbie section titled "how to use miracle grow" or something like that

think thats a good buy?? they said oracle is made by ballast or something...so id assume it would be a good light..

I've never heard of them. A bulb is pretty much a bulb unless you go for the expensive bulbs. What you should look out for is the ballast, a bad ballast could blow your bulb one way or another. If you're buying from a store you're probably safe though, only time you can get bad product is if you buy online and don't do any review searches on them. I can't remember which company it was but theres one where the ballasts constantly die in less than 5 years and the company doesn't do anything about it when you contact them.

If you have problems with your lighting, sometimes the hydro store will lend you a ballast until you can get your own if you bought it from them

well yeah im pretty sure they are legit because they say i have a 1 year warranty so thats always a good thing i guess right???

and especially if something happens to my clones within 30 days the colliective will exchange them for me no questions asked..hehe. :]

ALSO//another thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am gonna be growing in a living room..i dont think i'll be able to use our closet..so how should i set it up to icialate the plants...keep them in the corner with some curtains hannging with a zipper?? or what..i dont know if i can afford a grow tent..id love to have one..but i am broke at the moment.

dont they have to be in a closed area because of the bugs and stuff??

You can always go to craigs list and look for a cheap or free wardrobe, or buy one of those disposable ones from u-haul. just make sure you either paint the inside flat white, or get yourself some mylar in there.

Well what I'm going to do with my grow when I get an apartment is buy some mylar/panda film and just staple it to the ceiling and let it drape to the ground, tape it all up with some duct tape and leave two untaped for a door. The door will have another piece of mylar/panda film covering where the two door piece meet.

A wardrobe works too though but you're going to have to (well don't have to but its recommended) cover it with mylar or paint it flat white anyways

Get yourself a ceramic metal halide. It will work in a normal hps ballast as long as its a magnetic one. And the bulb should only cost around 40$. I would just buy a tent if I were you. Get yourself a small carbon filter and fan combo, some fabric grow bags, and some quality soil. Then pick up some Jack's Classic nutrients (this is the cheapest yet most effective shit)

having a seperate HPS and MH is better in my opinion because you're using two bulbs, reducing the amount of time you use them for. So you basically cut the usage in about half

grow lab 60 probably 4 plants

GrowLab 80 probably about 8.

You're better off building your own with dimensions you want. I'm in the process of building a 5 foot by 5 foot PVC grow tent, it'll be cheaper than the grow lab 80 even

Id prefer buying a grow lab ready to go.

I hear alot of good things aboutt grow tents , so i believe id Yield alot more buds seince it will be alot more protected in the grow room

typically how much do you think would be the least i would Yield off of some Blue Dream or Green Crack for a beginner?

I mean i know it depends how much light they get and ect. but just a wild guess of what most likely happens for a beginner most the time at harvest?
also the quality i know its possible to come out with some lower quality blue dream or sour d but how does this happen? how do you truely create dank frosted blue dream with tons of trichomes? i mean like typically doesent it produce good?? ..forgive me for my spelling lol
like arent they pretty easy to manage though?? i mean to make bomb medicine cant be that hard right? i see the other forum with everyones frostiest nugs..how do they make those nugs so frosted?? those nugs and plants are incredible..lol..TEACH ME YER WAYS hehe :]

have any of you guys handled Sativas like Blue Dream , green crack , and sour diesel??

and plus..its more simple for me to buy the grow box lol...

its so easy to build your own... u can make a sturdier structure from 2x2's and some cheap ply. or get some pvc, make a frame, and apply the panda/thermal film. <-Less structure but cheaper and easier (prone to problems with low pressure)
