Hanna Meter not calibrating properly?

It seems that the calibration solutions I have purchased for my Hanna meter are not doing the trick. Someone wrong with what I am doing perhaps?

I rinse the probes off in tap water (I have a grounding, pH and ppm probe) and then proceed to the 1382 ppm test solution. Calibrates fine, a quick rinse and into the 1500 I go. The meter will now read 1900, off the scale, so I adjust the screw on the front of my meter to get the read proper. Then, back to the tap water and into the 1382 again, which now reads 900.

the pH will calibrate fine, I just can't seem to get the ppm correct. Any thoughts?

are you sure you have to use the two calibrating solutions? should only be the 1500ppm solution..but i may be wrong.

i rinse my meters in distilled water ive always thought that testing solutions were range specific & you used one or the other but not both i rarely use my ppm meter these days & its not a hanna sorry im not much help

Your calibration might need to be changed for that solution. Hanna is pretty good with their tech support.

My thought on this is that I really dislike Hanna meters. My experience with them is that they go to crap pretty quickly. How I wish I could've grabbed one of the fancy meters at my old job.
I echo the previous posters suggestion to get a BlueLab meter.

Which BlueLab meter model do you all recommend? I was looking at the Bluelab Guardian Monitor and the Combo monitor.

Which hanna ph/ec meter model you have?
I had an Hanna Hi 98129 which had some problem calibrating the EC/ppm so it might be normal. It usually was getting to long to get the ''ok'' in calibration test or had to try 2-3 times before it was successful.
i needed 1413ms/cm calibration solution so just be sure you use the right one.

Btw i bought the Bluelab Guardian now since the Hanna wasn't mine and had to return it.
It really goes one step further, continuous monitoring of the ph/ec is great, you know exactly how is your ph going anytime, gives you less hassle too.
i Strongly recommend it.

Its also recommended that you store the probe tip in tap or distilled water because when they dry out the probes develop problems.

Each company has their own storing liquid. I suggest buying it. Keeping the probe moist is very important. If you want longevity out of your PH meter, use the proper storing solution.

Are you using the Hanna Grow Check ? I have the same exact meter if you are... I had the same issue when my probe took a dump expect I couldn't calibrate PH correctly. Try some clean and cal soluion then try again if it fails again your probe is probably broken. The probes dont have a long a life.

My Hanna Probes were only lasting about 1 year before they took a shit now that I store it in my hanna storing solution I get more life out of this last one I bought.
