I have some seedlings that I started and I would like the know when to transplant to the medium pots for full veg? Also how much nutrients vs water do you use to get them goin as to not stress them too much.

Well, it depends on when the roots get so big that they need to be transplanted. I grow in root cubes and after about 12 days, they are ready for a transplant. I'm not sure what you are currently growing in, but when the roots out grow their environment, (root cube, cup) it's time to transplant.
Don't give your seedlings nutes either. Seedlings are fine with just water.

Well, some more information would be helpful. Give the details of your set-up.
But I like to transplant after about 3-4 weeks for the first time, then once more into the pots they will finish in just before they go to 12/12 and are flowered.

you want to make sure to have enough roots and make sure that the soil is real dry before you transplant or it will be alot harder

Agreed with what everyone said except for the completely dry part. I like to water about 2 days before I transplant so it holds together well (if too wet it`s like mud and if too dry it can crumble and damage the root fibers and hairs).
When you see the roots creeping out of the bottom is a good indicator of when to transplant.

Thanx so much for all the replies. I have a 8 bulb t-5 set up. 4 seedlings started while I wait for my clones. I have a pic that I will post. I am brand new at this and would like to get good results without wasting alot of time with failures.

With that set-up I would say 3 weeks or so. I like to transplant only after my plant has had time to really get a good root system, other wise things can get messy, the root system can become stressed, etc. But some people do it sooner.
What nutrients are you planning to use? Generally, less is more.
What kind of soil are you growing in?
I started in soil under CFL's and learned the hard way so I can probably save you some money

Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil General Hydroponics nutrients. I have no idea what seeds they are. They came from Kentucky over 6 years ago. Just gona see what pops up. My friend is settin me up with a few clones that are already proven to be good.

Which line of GH nutrients? Bloom, Micro, Gro, or what do you have? Why not use Fox Farm Nutrients for soil?
Did you cut the FFOF with any perlite or is it as it came out of the bag?
You won't need to feed any nutrients until they are about 18-21 days old in FFOF. I need to know more about the nutes you plan to use before I can tell you what do add.
When I water in soil, I do: water, water, water+nutrients in veg, and water, water+nutrients, water, water+nutrients, etc in flower. I water once every three days in veg and once every two days in flower.

You still have a while to go. Once you see roots poking out the holes in the bottom of the pot, its almost time.
If you water every other day, and within 2 days the soil gets dry till it pulls away from the walls of the pot, its almost time.
If it needs water every day, its past time.
If the roots are running along the top of the soil, its past time.

Ok it looks like I got a little impatient. As for the nutrients I am using General Hydroponics Floranova during veg. The smallest in the pics did not make it RIP. The two I transplanted into bigger pots have exploded in growth so I'm gona leave them alone. I watered after transplanting using floranova 250 ppm PH 6.0. I hope I didn't screw it up. So far though they seem to be happy. We will see. I really appreciate all the response and help. Oh by the way bigjesse I am using the FFOF as soil and all the white stuff came from Fox Farm Light Warrior that's what I started the seeds in. The guy at the hydroponics shop said to mix the two. I'm not sure he really knows.

Thanks. Those are from my very early grows and I have learned a lot since then....but I have been rewarded with some fine smoke throughout my growing career so to speak. I am not an expert and still learning myself

I like to wait til mine are about as tall and as wide as the pot they're in, before transplanting or feeding. What you see above ground, is indicative of what's going on below ground, so if the foliage occupies about the same space as the pot's volume, then generally, the roots will have filled the pot, as well. Also, it doesn't take long after this, til the roots have depleted the soil of nutrients, and it's time to start a low nutrient dose, 1/4 strength or so.
