*Jedi Kush* (Cali Connect') ~ Indoor Grow log "Passive Hydro" - Coco

Alright, so I see you missed a bit of feeding them during the early stages, and that is where my questions are. My Jedi Kush, I can't tell if they are heavy feeders or light feeders. I just can't make them happy no matter what I feed them, and I'm about to flush them. I've been feeding them BioBizz, so over feeding isn't very likely when they are a month old and only at 380-430 PPM at .7 TDS factor. (EC 0.5 -0.7) and they are pretty darn yellow. now even some of my adults don't mind this feeding, and all my other seedlings besides the Jedi Kush and Chernobyl (TGA Subcool) are happy. They are almost exactly a month old, they are in Sunshine Mix #4 and are in the corner of my veg tent under a 400w MH. They have perfect temps/rh and have great light. The only thing I can think of right now is possibly pH, my pH meter was off by .3 after I cleaned it a few weeks ago and forgot to calibrate it until tonight. But .3 should not be enough to totally fuck my day up when 5.9 is always my goal, sometimes 5.8. At one point I realized the pH swing and started adjusting my formula extra low to compensate, but I am afraid I might have over shot it a few times.

So give me some intimate info on these girls, what do they like? Do you think I will find a good mom with my 4? Or do you think I should grow out another 4 to get a good selection for my mom? I am thinking probably more since I've heard she isn't all that stable on Cali Connections. I've only stumbled on your grow and a few others, as well as some comments on them by Swerve.

I've found them pretty easy to grow so far tbh, and I always feed my girls light on the nute dose too. Mine are at Day 34 into flower now and I still have mine at E.C.-1.6. and they're nice and green atm. From the sounds of it mate your ph is the problem and they need the E.C upping some more imo too, as like you said everything else is up to standard and yours sound hungry for more feeds imo. Keep a daily check on it as the ph will often shift in your res'. And also I have found that a 'lil extra nitrogen in the feeds helps too .
I only cracked 5 seeds and outta the 2 girls I have they're both looking to be keepers atm, but I'll make a choice between the 2 when I sample them once dried/cured . So I reckon your chances on a finding a winner are good.

Introduced them to the "PK13/14" this week and as you can see both are swelling out nicely. #2 has packed on the most weight so far though...

Thanx .... lol it's funny you ask for more pic's tbh as I'll be updating this thread later this weekend mate.
And no there are no more signs of any hermie issues in my remaining two girls, it may just be that certain phenotype in this hybrid that probabbly isn't that stable imo. Things like that can occur when new strains are made out of these exclusive clone only strains. Sometimes the genetics don't fit together right and need a little tweaking with or another combo of parent strains to X altogether. The strain is worth growing out though, it's lookin to have a good yeild and a quite fast flower time too.
Smells are a OG/Sour kick very intense too

First off, let me just say hello and thank you skunkmunkie. I've followed your journals for quite some time now, but never really replied because I'm a long time member of a different forum and just use this one for extra info.

However you are the only person on the internet right now doing a proper grow and documentation of CC's Jedi Kush. I've got one in veg right now and I'm about to switch to flower. Mine has enjoyed lighter nutes so far, and has burned easily before at 1/2 strength (advanced nutrients). My main question for you is about your PH, I see you're in some kind of soilless mix, am I correct? I've always thought that soil's ph would be higher, around 6.3-6.5

I see you always have yours at 5.9/6.0 is that the water in? or the runoff? Once I'm in flower I'm gonna try and up the ppms to a higher amount like you have and see if she reacts well. Thanks again for all your great updates.

I'm using a Coco & perlite (mix 80/20%), and I let my ph drift in my res' inbetween 5.6 - 6.1. But always try to aim for my ph @ 5.9 feeding in usually.
I've not really pushed them at much of a high dose really either, peaking at E.C-1.8 this week, now I'll start lowering down to E.C-1.6 again before flushing for harvesting soon. "#2" will be ready for the chop in a few weeks!!
I've found them to be very light feeders tbh and both are looking to be heavey yeilders too. imo I would say your better off not overdoing it too much on the additives once in flower mate .

I LST'd my Jedi early on, I also would agree that it's a slower grower. It wasn't as large as my other strains until recently when it caught up somewhat...

Hey Munkie, so you treat your soilless mix like hydro don't you? Hydro grows are usually between 5.5-6.0ph, and you water by hand right? I'm guessing a large reservoir of nutrients you mix up every week? My "soilless" mix is Peat/Perlite/Worm Castings. So I don't know if I should do the same as you, or keep it like a soil grow at 6.3-6.5? ?

I wouldn't like to say tbh fella as I've been a hydro grower since I started. You could just see how the plants react to the ph, by looking for signs at the leaf tips. And adjust accordingly till you find your "sweet spot" for your set up.

Flowering Day#49 ~ (Day 108 total)

So this last week or so I've still been packing in the additives in with the feeds and am now starting to lower the E.C. in my res' and cut them out over the next week too, just in time to flush for the week after. Both of these ladies are special in their own way and they're filling out quite nicely with large, tight and very dense buds and are both packing on the weight even more now, and they are both lookin to finish soon too. I'm very happy with them and how this run has turned out and I am really looking forwards to sampling some of this strain, I sense the force will be strong in these...

Wowie! Man that all looks great. Sorry I never thanked you for your advice. The seedling grow is going rough still, I've only done maybe 6 seeds in the last year before starting this one up, so it's weird getting back into it. Seeds used to provide half my crop. But they still look like youngsters, I think they are just dwarfed, I have some new ones going though, and I'll try again with them. I'll stick these dwarfs into flower and see if they pull out of it at all, if not, they'll go into the garbage. I am determined to keep it going though, so far your plants look mega-dank, definitely very encouraging. I can see now why CC recommended staking this plant.

Thanx mate, these are some very top heavey plants and are gonna yeild fantastic too, deffo needed the extra support as the colas are like clubs lol. Mine were lacking in growth through the early stages too and didn't really take off untill I transplanted & flipped them into flower. Thats when they exploded into the girls you see now so don't give up on 'em just yet fella, they may still surprise you.

You should measure up the space you have beforehand fella lol, why not just use the whole room instead?? I got sick of the height restrictions using the tents, I like my leggy/tall sattys and the tents held me back.
