First Grow Closet Fluro Bubblicious Fem.

This is my first grow and any tips are welcomed. I am on a small budget because I was recently laid off.

About the grow:
I am growing Bubblicious from Nirvana. The seeds are feminized. I germinated two seeds between wet paper towels and after 2 days they both cracked. I also planted one seed straight into soil in a 16oz cup just for the hell of it. All of the seeds sprouted from the soil after a few days so I am very happy :lol: .

I am using only fluorescent bulbs. They are 48in T12 40w bulbs and I have 4 totaling 160w. For veg I am using daylight bulbs that are 6500k and around 2300 lumen per bulb. For flowering I will be using soft white 2700k and 3300 lumen per bulb. I will be using Flora Nova Bloom from start to finish.

For my next grow I am taking the inspiration I got from SCOTTYBALLS and getting a 400w CMH and a waterfarm. But that isn't for a while due to money restrictions. :wall:

The seeds sprouted from the soil on Monday September 26 so every Monday will be a new week. Here are some pics that I got so far. Quality may not be too great as the only camera I have is my phone.

Day 8. I noticed a pretty big difference between day 7 and 8. Hoping to see some nice growth over the next few days.

u should add some cfls or a t8 at least
but as for the the cmh setup look up member

i noticed u got some yellowing whats up with that
are u giving anything more then water and how often u water?

The yellowing is actually a combination of the reflection of the light and some dried nute spots. I put a little bit of nutes in a spray bottle with water and spritz them occasionally and it just dries from the lights. In person they are green and very healthy. Plus keep in mind in using a camera phone so whatever light settings it chooses it messes with the pics. I water them when the soil is dry and crusty for a few inches down. Haven't had any problems so far with the way im watering them. I'd rather have them under watered than drowning anyway.

I was thinking about picking some CFL's up actually. Probably this weekend. As for the CMH I am not sure if you saw SCOTTYBALL's grow but he used a CMH all the way through veg and flower and got the same, if not better results when using an HPS. Plus it will be better than switching between MH and HPS. I'm not expecting any crazy yields on this grow. This is more of a learning experience for me. Take what I learn from this and put it towards my next grow with better equipment.

Not a problem. I will be updating with pics later tonight. I am trying to keep a day by day log to show the growth. Can't wait till harvest. I heard Bubblicious has a really nice strong high/stoned feeling.

just so you know.. lumens are not compounded when you add more bulbs of the same calibur.. ie.. 2 bulbs putting out 1000 lumens each is still 1000 lumnens.. it is a measure of light intensity and only by increasing the wattage of a CFL or halo will increase the lumen output.. you need roughly 3,000 lumens for veg and 5,000-7,000 for budding.. natural daylight (clear skies, no shade, summer close to equator) is approx 10,000 lumen per sqft..

for every unit of distance you move from the light source you lose 75% lumen efficiency.. so your light sources must be within 12 inches for them to be accurate.. to keep lights 24 inches from the light source, one might need double, even triple the lumen output, thus being the reason why 1000w hps is the #1 choice for growing.. @ 140,000 lumens.. fyi I do not use 1000w.. i use cfl's 125w -200w and 42w's...

you may want to get something stronger for your budding phase.. 125w cfl or 200w cfl per 4-9 sqft should do.. iIMHo

I use 400 watt cmh on a mover in a 22" x 42" x 60" closet...am constructing a 5'x5'x9' room which will have 2 400 cmh on movers, 1 400 hps vertical in a cool tube and 2 54 watt special spectrum t5 in each corner...according to the phyical laws of lighting these outpust in this geometry will provide around 8-10000 fc uniformity

i'm about 5 weeks into my first (nirvana bubblicious auto-fem) closet grow, or as de dip put it earlier my 'hobbiest grow'! doin de whole lot under 2x23w cfl's! i now see from the forums that this is why mine got off to a slow start. i'm a student and growin it because i cant afford it and you cant trust the weed here in ireland. over the last 2 years dealers have taken to adding fiberglass,crushed glass or veg oil to up the weight, now that is a crime!!
in the next 3-4 weeks i hope to get a 90w led ufo light with somethin like 7:1 red;blue mix. do you think i will have the light in time to get anyway of a respectable personal yeild?
