So, back in 2007 to 2009 I was involved in a small scale personal grow (small setup about 8x8 feet in a small greenhouse) and after 2 years I'm back to my old ways

So, I have to get some pictures but I figured I would share my project with you guys

It all started... when I went over to my wife's parents house with her and spotted a 250w HPS hanging from their garage. After finding out it hadn't been used in months and they didn't care about it I grabbed the lil bastard and was off to make my garden as per my wife's request. She's bipolar and has anxiety problems, so I wanna grow some bud for her to smoke to help her calm down from manic episodes.

The only space that I have available is a 2x7x9 (LxWxH) closet with sliding track doors, but I'm sure I can manage the light leaks with some ingenuity. I'm beginning to think a 250W HPS/MH setup may be too small in this closet, so I might upgrade to 400 (square foot total is 14ft but obviously being as wide as this closet is I need the extra wattage IMHO.)

So, I've settled on a DWC "bubble-bucket" with 4 plants (may do SOG if I can fit one or two more plants in there.) Also, I'm starting with two strains for me and her. Cannadential for the wife (heard its a good anti-anxiety smoke), and AK-48 for me (recreation, chronic pain relief from old injuries that flare up)

Feel free to comment, give feedback, suggestions, etc. :] I'll be out of town from this evening til the 11th so I won't have pics of the closet til then.

PS: Can anyone suggest a few other strains for me and the wife? TY!

2x7... You would likely be better to get another 250 watter and do 2 plants under each light.

I have flowered under a 250, and 2 was perfect. (I grew in totes DWC at that point - can give you a few suggestions if you think you need em)...
I have dart league tonight thought.. so I am hitting the bong, and off to the pub - be back later - I hope...

If you could tell me a good seedbank (I use Attitude) to find Strawberry Cough, I'd be delighted! I haven't had it in like 2 or 3 years!

Forgot to mention... small 12,000 BTU A/C unit in the closet. ;D

Go with the 400 if you want - but "to keep the price down" is why I said get a 250. The one I have was a little over $100 on ebay.. sure you could find them cheaper than that if you looked.

Yeah I looked at the difference in buying a MH conv bulb plus a whole other ballast and light set + reflector VS buying a basic 400w setup from HTG and it came out cheaper. So I'll just go with that. But thank you for the idea It shall remain in my suggestion box

Hell yeah my flight was awesome, I got wicked baked and got laid in the lavatory haha.

I'm hitting the hydroponic shop and ordering everything else online soon as I get back. Will provide a link to my grow journal once I start it this coming week There was a final settlement on strains between me and the wifey. DNA Genetics "Pure Afghan" for my pain relief, "Raspberry Cough" for the wife's anxiety.

I want to attempt to get a clone of some old school Alaskan Thunderfuck... but its so rare. Most people hoard it or try to sell you Matanuska Tundra, Matanuska Thunderfuck, or other fucked up hybrids as the real deal (whether its on purpose or if they're just stupid, IDK) Anyone got any leads on where to get it from?
