Tyvek To Make Wine?

When you make wine (or release co2 for a grow with yeast/sugar) you use a twin bubble airlock. Tyvek creates gas exchange (not sure if that's good in this situation) and would be much easier to install and cheaper. Is it possible to use a tyvek lid instead of a twin bubble airlock?

i just get me a gallon milk jug put in some yeast three cans grape concentrate add about a half cup to a cup sugar then put a ballon on top and let that shit sit

I would never drink wine made with Tyvek.

It's not made with tyvek, tyvek would just be used as a lid xD

And I've heard about the balloon method, but I've already got twin bubble airlocks, just wondering if tyvek would work.

Ok. I misread. I'd imagine it would make a decent top for a CO2 generator, but one of the S shaped bubble ones would be better.

how can you tell whines actually ready and safe to drink im talkin about homemade wine that is

If you're just fermenting it (like the balloon method) it's safe. I just poured mine into quart jars and my parents love it xD And they never drink...

You can tell it's done when it stops bubbling (with twin bubble airlock), but I'm not sure about the balloon method.

well its not bubbling no more and the ballon was deflated this morning and all the yeast is settled at the bottom you think its done??

and its been about two weeks maybe close to three the recepie said two weeks but i know the longer it sets the better it will be

i got to let it sit out in the sun i just put the yeast sugar and the rest of it in the gallon jug put the ballon on and have been letting it sit behind the fridge and the ballon deflated in about two weeks wich was today

I never let mine sit out in the sun. I just poured them into quart jars and put em in the fridge lol.

Here's a qt of my Fruit Punch wine. It is delicious, and my whole family loves it :)
