Tyvek To Make Wine?

When you make wine (or release co2 for a grow with yeast/sugar) you use a twin bubble airlock. Tyvek creates gas exchange (not sure if that's good in this situation) and would be much easier to install and cheaper. Is it possible to use a tyvek lid instead of a twin bubble airlock?

I would never drink wine made with Tyvek.
It's not made with tyvek, tyvek would just be used as a lid xD

And I've heard about the balloon method, but I've already got twin bubble airlocks, just wondering if tyvek would work.

Ok. I misread. I'd imagine it would make a decent top for a CO2 generator, but one of the S shaped bubble ones would be better.

If you're just fermenting it (like the balloon method) it's safe. I just poured mine into quart jars and my parents love it xD And they never drink...

You can tell it's done when it stops bubbling (with twin bubble airlock), but I'm not sure about the balloon method.
