i don't understand how you could have a warrant placed against you based on finger pointing though. Which is essentially what happened.

That makes it all the more strange. What evidence of manufacturing could they possibly have on him if they didn't seize any at the house? No need to answer that. It just makes one wonder what they're up to. Looks to me like the cops fucked up big time on this one. They are gonna have to prove that he was growing, and unless he had, or was involved with, another grow that got popped they got nothing. (other than the word of some paid informant that they based the probable cause for the warrant on.)
I'm happy for you. Hows Dad faring? He should be pretty proud of you looking out like you did.

Yeah he came home an was pretty happy that everything was gone lol. Hes good thanks for asking. Playing some Unreal Tournament right now lol....just the local news has blown it waaaay out of proportion. He was arrested along with other people doing cocaine and meth... >.> but yeah all things are fine for now. Just don't understand why growing, and smoking a plant is illegal, but whatever. Thanks man.

It seems to me like they decided to shake the tree to see if anything fell out. If they had any actual evidence to suspect a grow was at that location then a judge would have signed the search warrant. The fact that no warrant was signed to search the house and only one to arrest him tells me that they know what is going on but can't prove it and were hoping he would accidentally say something they can use or could scare him into ratting out somebody else so everybody builds a case against each other and the police jail a bunch of people based on little to nothing. If and when he decides to start growing again a few years from now when it all blows over, he should definitely limit who knows about the grow and maybe sell through a trustworthy broker. Please tell me you opened that hard drive and smashed the platter with a hammer.

you dodged a bullet this time. it is time to move. the local cops now know your dad and will look to bust him in the future. now he either makes a drastic change to his life style (which never happens) or waits to slip up and get caught worse next time. good luck and be safe, next time you might not be so lucky.

There's gotta be more to this story, since it was an outstanding warrant its possible they already had all the evidence they need. But it is very strange they didnt search the house, I believe with any felony arrest they are allowed to conduct a search with or without a search warrant.

No, I made them get a warrant before they could search the house when they came for me. Without a warrant, they are allowed only to look in an area within 10 or so feet (Called a safety search) for weapons that the arrestee might dive for, but they are not allowed to open any closed boxes, cabinets, suitcases, etc. only a visual.

I disagree, you should NEVER let anyone know you are growing...simple as that...if you want to grow don't be a dealer as well...offload it all to one person and tell them if they ever get caught to use the story "I found it growing in the woods (insert time period of last outdoor harvest period)"...

Overall, act normal, not scared if you can...relax...don't be overly defensive if ever questioned, act clueless.

The rules of lieing to the cops:
Don't touch your face
Don't touch your hair
Don't look up and to your left right before answering a question(it says you are looking for a fabrication to tell them)
Don't itch yourself
Don't clear your throat
Don't be nervous, you are innocent until they can drag something out of you :D

Computer Cleanup:

Download DBAN - http://www.dban.org/ <-- download iso,
Burn iso with http://www.imgburn.com/ to a disk
Boot computer off burned disk and run for at least 10 passes on your computer(usually a couple hours), but before you do that make sure you have an operating system or recovery disk set to reinstall your computers operating system, or have a friend who is good with computers reinstall it, but don't tell them why its dead, just say it happened lol

DBAN writes 1's and 0's on the hard drive completely masking trace magnetic signatures on the platters that can be detected by forensics...
