Why don't we just get Israel or Saudi Arabia to launch a preemptive strike on Iran?
What are we going to do?

with SA, there's a pretty good reason
last i heard, the Iranian army(including reservists) would be about a million
SA, considerably less
our fear is Iran surges into SA across the persian gulf
we likely could take out such a invasion, provided it wasn't done too stealthily
and with nukes of course, no problem, though nukes are a problem in themselves
and so the status quo persists

I thought Obama just did the biggest arms deal in history with Saudi Arabia? Shouldn't they be able to run over Iran?

we sell all we can to SA, they're pretty well armed
but wars are tricky, what should happen, doesn't always happen
the saudi's past military performance isn't all that reassuring

The devils in Persia better have some deep holes dug. The devils in the D of C will soon order the military to give Persia some shock & awe to go with there evil ways. Which is a shame because I bet theres lots of people who want to live long and prosper and go to Heaven with the rest of us.

Prayer is your mightiest weapon to use against the evil that permetes this world. Dont be fooled by false messiahs. There can be but one and his name is Yeshua!

Bahrain isn't too big, and the anti saudi population has been oppressed for quite a while
the saudi's performance i had in mind was is in Iraq, they were OK, but needed some hand holding
this is a very old story, the Iranians are the old Persian empire(in some respects)
and the Arabs have very sharp memories of those days, when the Persians dominated
they're more than a little afraid of them, which is a reason they tolerate us as allies

It seems we ( US) are strategically placing ourselves in the eastern hemisphere to position ourselves if/when Russia and china and maybe Pakistan get together and decide to ruin our earth...just my opinion...having military presence in SA, and all over the middle east all the way to japan and the Korean peninsula would be highly beneficial for keeping an eye on the situation and a hand in the pot over there...just my 2 cents!

you guys are all wrong. the reason nobody invades iran is b/c iran has a national defense industry that's shrouded in mystery.

they don't buy guns from anybody, they make them themselves.

they've now begun building unmanned drones and know the strategy to winning a modern war is to sit tight and prepare for the long haul

shock and awe american style won't work if you have a loyal population and over a million men ready to fight.....

by the looks of it irans interests are changing... the young population is a lot more welcoming to the west than the generation in power and those damn theocrats... it won't be that long before things change.

there are some pretty interesting features of Iran's culture
they seem fairly drug tolerant, supposedly in some streets the smell of hash or opium is noticeable
they have pleasure marriages arranged through clerics, these can be for months, weeks, or days
and a different attitude towards homosexuals, the state will pay for gender changing surgery?
much different from the nearby Arab states
