what if you grow your own medical pot will this also be a violation.or does it only apply to the dispensaries.
They've stated that they'll be going after large scale growers as well. Look out mendo!

I doubt the FEDs are going to come after you for a personal medical garden though. Nothing to worry about there.

there is another issue here besides the current raids - have you guys noticed the thing that happened one day before the raids started? the IRS ruled that the cannabusiness is 'Trafficking in Illegal Substances' and therefore, under anti-kingpin codes, cannot deduct payroll, rent. etc on their taxes, as they are operating an illegal enterprise. that means that every single store front or co-operative will have to either shut down or somehow go completely non-profit.
Pretty much every non-profit in the country deducts rent and payroll. Basically they are using RICO as a way to get double they taxes out of dispensaries. That is not at all the intended use of RICO. It's bullshit.

there is a bill introduced in congress already to stop it, but it is just backed by the usuals, Frank and Paul
That's been burried in committee. The committee chair has already said it'll never see a congressional vote. The only way that will ever become law is if democrats take control of congress and appoint a new committee chairman. Even then it's not a sure thing.

Just as funny as watch u with tweezers and a magnafine glass. Spelling Nazi are cool.somewhere I guess.

Some of these depisaries that were riaded made millions and paid little taxxes and the growers justify 250+ dollars an hour for plant care plus expense, these r the operations being targeted and ones not in compliance with zoning laws. Some of u r not even on the same level most of the places getting closed r bad and r part of a wide spread problem including cartles and so on. I know several nocal grow not forums peeps that will not grow next year so these outsider can be targeted. Every body is hiding behind our delicate law and its time it be cleaned up before its gone

Please keep responding. I don't care what you say...just make a good long post. We're taking bong rips and reading your posts out loud for entertainment. My friend, Mindy, pissed herself laughing. What the fuck is a cartle? Is it like a car and a turtle?

I would never have fun at the expense of someones lack of education. But, when you start a post with Fuck You, and end with Honkey Trash....well, you pretty much paint a bulls eye right on your empty little head. I so look forward to your response.

Don't be scared folks. i still call scare tactics!

the feds are just showing some muscle and some clubs are just plain intimidated. I think those with half a brain will go to the delivery service type setup rather than having a store front. Its just too risky at this time. Then let the feds try and bust delivery services. good luck with that.

I think it'll get uglier before it gets better but unless you're a major player in the industry you have little to nothing to worry about. Personal growers, small time vendors (ie. those who do it as daily living to make a decent wage), small time growers (supplying 2lb a month or less or so) small delivery services, etc. are all safe imo.

the ones in the danger zone have commercial grow ops and/or store front dispensaries. those are whos under the radar. Those are really the only people the feds can afford to go after. its common gov't practice to go after the biggest and the baddest and hope the rest will fall with them.

However even if every club in the state shut down all it would do is boost the p2p trade (legally under 215) and the black market trade. its not gonna decapitate the industry like they think. if anything it will give all former dealers a kick in the pants to get out there and hustle again as prices would rise as a result (imo as it would be harder to access for your avg joe)

Before I became ill, I was a non-profit accountant for over 25 years. What is a non-profit? A good example would be a city. The city collects money from its inhabitants in the form of taxes to dispense services to all the residents. How? Property taxes, Payroll taxe, parking and speeding tickets, etc. At the end of the year, the city should not have any excess or discrepencies. All non-profits, (churches, art museums, etc.), are supposed to work that way. There are three business: a non-profit, a profit, and a MMJ dispensary with the same gross revenues for the year. They each have janitors. The profit and non-profit pay their janitors @ $16,000.00 each year. If the MMJ pays its janitor $30,000/yr, they will be scrutinized. That is just one of many examples. If the non-profit is foolish enough to keep books: Let's see your Income Statement, Blalance Sheet, and Status of Funds. There are many ways to determine compliance. Once those smart-ass accountants get on your case, ...well ask Al Capone.

wow, so Toss - do you see any way that dispensaries can operate at all under the new IRS rules?
glad to have your input on the matter!

Listen... They cant fight the tide. You can kick a few waves.back, but you will in time lose to its overwhelming power. They have been fighting, and losing, the war on drugs for over 40 years. Even in the midst of complete illegality they were not very effective controlling weed. Unfortunately a few of us in the game might get treated like waves and get kicked back, but ultimately they cant win against the momentum. Things may get difficult for some of us out there, and if you are one of those people, my heart goes out to you. But we have some laws on our side, we supposedly have democracy on our side, and in time we will persevere. It just sucks for those of us who have to take the brunt of assheaded greed. Whats the answer to 99 out of 100 questions? Answer:money. When they get their money it will whet their appetities, soon they will figure its better to milk us over time than to slit the belly of the goose that lays golden eggs to see whats inside. I call it "golden goose economics" pretty common in SE Asia, and any place in general where corruption is rampant.

Sure, they can start paying people under the table and keeping cash instead of reporting it. It absolutely destroys any notion of clubs attempting to be truly not for profit though.

i don't know all of the figures, but i imagine that the government relies heavily on the prison system for its revenue - they are just starting with the Corrections Corporation of America, etc, privatizing prisons for muti-billion dollar profit in recent years. and who is the biggest population of criminals? of course marijuana smokers, far beyond all other crimes combined. so, they cannot have their rule system rattled in one part of the country while on the other coast people are beaten into submission by the same rule. i think that may be a guiding force here - if cali legalized - people in every other state would be crying out 'why am i in jail while all of them walk free?' 'why is my house forfeited for something that is in every gas station on the west coast?'

i don't see how they could operate like that though. state police could walk in at any time. it would be as easy and clean as running a cartel.. :(

Some of our clubs are getting shut down, not all of them. The clubs that obey all the regulations set before them will stay open. The ones that don't will shut their doors.

Clubs DO get raided for over the counter sales to undercover cops.

"The other dispensary that I supply got raided last week by feds but just opened up again this week."

The people that opened the club back up are probably for the most part brain dead.

It's quite common for clubs to open right back up after being raided depending on the charges.
