I need to lower it. my idea is to use damp-rid. ive never used it before/nor know where to get it but out of all the reviews ive seen ive noticed its gotten the highest praise for lowering humidity.

im just now entering flowering (waitin to see pistils as we speak) and my humidity is hovering around 55-60% id like it down to 35-40%

my flower room is 8x10ft or 10x12ft (never measured but its somewhere in there)

what should i do? and yes i have fans and ok ventilation

well that was helpful lol. jk it at least give me a starting point to search. my room is kind a big but i dont think its worth buying a dehumidifier for just a couple months a yr (its only really humid usually nov-jan) idk why but its humid early this year.

yeah, what he said and that chemical isn't cheap (calcium chloride) won't do shit really.
Get a used dehumidifier they'll last a lifetime and make your home more comfortable too.

One really really cheap way I got the humidity down in my grow room was a big old bucket of rice. Mind you at the time the grow room was alot smaller then yours so rice might not work as great. I wouldnt lower the humidity to 30-40, isnt that a bit low? mines at about 45-55 sometimes 60+ and seems good for me. Are you seeing signs of bud rott or fungas?

not yet lol i just started them on 12/12.

i had them in 36hr darkness...opened the door turned on the light..checked the humidity and it was at 70% from it being closed up for nearly two days. once i turned on the lights/fans within 15-20min it was down to 55-62% but its not going much lower than that. id like for my humidity to be 50% or less at all times in flower (to prevent mold/rot)

i only have humidity issues in fall/winter. summer/spring its always dry here.

im just asking now as i want to nip this problem in the bud (pun intended) before i get mold when they do start flowering.

Haha dont worry I got the pun lol. Well Im not sure if rice will work too well in your case because it only dropped it a few notches for me. best bet is to leave it for now because you just flipped so you have some time, and wait untill a walmart or some superstore has dehumidifers and humidifiers on sale and grab 1 of each. usually this time of year they go on sale. The reason why I suggest a humidifier too is because you said in summer the humidity is low where you live so this might be a nice investment for you. And the reason why I suggest waiting untill they go on sale is because I hate spending money on shit like that and I suppose you would too lol.

yyeah cuz i looked at home depot and amazon and they want$200 for the smallest unit! that cost more than my a/c unit i bought for the grow room (that has built in fan and carbon filter!) ;)

idk how cheap they go when they go on sale but i coulda sworn i seen them for $30-$50 before but cant remember where.
