Bananas Very Late In Flowering

Pollen-sacks (or "bananas") suddenly started popping up - like overnight, mostly hiding inside my tops (colas), on 1 of my plants only.
I've counted about 10 of them (just discovered, not opened yet).

I'm starting week 10, and plan to chop at 11.

Is it safe to wait as planned, maybe this is too late for pollination to happen?
Or should I chop today? (to avoid seeds or immature seeds in my buds).

i'd wait, but if you're careful, you can get a pair of tweezers and get in there and remove any nanner that you can get your hands on ... i think it's much to late to do any harm to this grow, ie, seed it, but if they blow their wads, and you grow in the same spot after this, you may run into problems with rogue pollen that you didn't see or didn't clean up...
after the grow, it's always best to wipe everything down with a weak bleach solution just to be on the safe side of things.. ..

btw, it's not uncommon for plants to throw a late nanner in flowering like what you have experienced, so it's nothing to get too freaked out about, lol..

Flower that late in flower means you flowered too long. It's a genetic response to oncoming death. A last ditch resort to pass on it's genes.
Next time pull the plant around week 9-10.

Its just an indication she has realized no male is going to polinate her...she will now try to do it herself lol very common and another indicator a plant is finished (along with calyx swell, pistil recession, and proper trichome coloring)

I've realized that I cannot control the hermie plant, and must assume it already has released some pollen (because pollen-sacks are so hard to spot, and they continue to pop up).

BUT (done some googling):

"At the end of a flowering cycle, it can be common to see a few male flowers develop if left too long. Fear not NOT! This is normal. It's genetically writen as a safe guard to carry on it's species. IF no male pollinates a female, MOST will do this over time, to pollinate itself, and seed. You have some options, just harvest if you see them, it will not have the time to produce seeds.

My question regarding the above: How long after I spotted the first pollen-sacks (spotted only hours ago) are my pollinated calyxes going to start using energy on seed-production?
Immediately?
A day?
If a WEEK, I could finish it?:
What I'm afraid of: immature seeds in my calyxes if I wait a week.

And is it true that energy for THC-production halts/slows after pollination?

I guess I have to accept that THC-degradation is happening as we speak, and that I must chop today: but please, let me know if someone know the answer anyway!

I had a bubba kush hermie on me - I then had clones of it hermie on me.. I smoked every ounce of it myself I got like 5 seeds from the whole thing.. I wouldn't worry about it, and mine were late in flower too.. I pulled it at 9 weeks though.

bro that may not be a bad thing if you get seeds. being that you only have female genes in your grow room, if two fems pollinate each other they can only make female seeds. so you may want pluck them nanners but pop a few and pollinate some buds for FREE FEMINIZED SEEDS! only bad thing is the resulting plants may have hermie tendencies.

LOL you need to just chill some plants do that if u are confident that u have good genetics and that you didnt stress your plant into a hermie i would not worry i have grown many different strains that have had a few nanners pop in the last couple weeks of flower and never once seen a seed so just relax seriously i remember when i was new to growing i would trip about every little spot i knew every leaf like the back of my hand now i just let um do there thang.

You're missing the point. You're plant is finished. If you don't want seeds yopu should pull it a soon as possible. Don't worry about THC production vs. seed production cause your plant if far beyond the point of maximum THC production. Your plant is dying. You should harvest as soon as possible.

wow really shows how much you know. ever bought a femanized seed? thats one of the ways to get them. so before you go spouting off at the mouth do a little research. his plants aren't actually hermies as they have already finished flowering. oh and by the way welcome to the forum asshole

I did take your point, in fact - I harvested immediately after reading your post!

Problem is, I expected amber and waited for that.
This is a strain that normally get amber (I've grown it before), so I'm really puzzled.
Something made this plant finish without any amber at all.

Still, a lot of people in this very thread adviced me to finish it - because late nanners are nothing to freak out about!
So maybe it got stressed, and did not finish as it normally does. I don't know for sure.

Oh sorry man, and I'm sorry about the hermie thing too. You say you've grown it before and it usually turns amber? That is weird.

That info off google was bullshit.Ive grown many females and have never seen a male flower late in flowering ,its unstable genetics that caused the hermie. Get it out now although i think it has already contaminated the real girls.

If a seed is produced by a femail, that has been stressed in to hermie, most or all seeds will be femails .How ever if a seed is produced by a plant that is geneticly a hermie, all seeds will be hermies.IME......J.L.

The sacks you are talking about contain all female pollin, if you use the pollin in the late sacks to pollanate your next crop all your seed will be female. head up !!

NEED HELP, I have 120 white widows evertime I water a few of my girls burn up, in three days after watering the leaf are crisp enought to crumble. It happens wheather I feed or not, My PH is 6.50 it looks just like PH burn (Low) but why is only happening to a few and not all (thank god) but if it keeps up I bummed, I am afrade to water. If I feed when they are really dry will it burn the roots and then burn the leafs, mabie ??
