the elemnet would be fairly large?-

normally a cylinder 10 inches in diameter and 24 inches lond, with coily wires from one end to the other?

other wise it would be a sensor.

its an electric furnace/ac unit...it has a heating element and a cooling radiator in the air path inside the unit...its a normal design...all electric no other fuel source...so...it functions like a clothes dryer in the heating part...what exactly was the issue last year?

It might be this fuckin programmable thermostate...I noticed a little 'sleep' button was on. I went online and can't find a manual for it, but I took the batteries out and restarted it, I'll know in a few.

Sort of. It's more like a clothes dryer, where you have the vent hose going to every room in the house.

nope its pretty normal in places that dont get supercold...easy way to give central heat/air without having to pipe in fuel, and electric companies give discounts to people who heat with electricity :)

Well? it's been nearly an hour all well? I do not in any way meant to sound stupid but have you tried searching the web? ie: u tube or ask.com? I unfortunately know nothing about Electric Furnaces like that Never even seen one :) But I do live in a colder climate most either oil or gas or those who do have electric heat are from baseboard style. Can you run to a Super center or somewhere that you can buy temp heat source? I am sure that there is a HVAC guy/gal that can help guild you best of luck :)

good deals, i hhit the prog button once and lost all heat in the middle of the night lol.....it went to pre prog bullshit setting.....but i was freakin out thinking money was gonna be involved lol

It works almost like a gas furnace, just uses electric element instead....my whole house is elec., my biggest gas bill is $10. and I don't even know why I pay that...I don't use gas for anything here, but I'm set -up for a gas dryer if needed, so I proble get charged just for the line and hookup beng there.

lol...nope, it wasn't. That would of been a $700 scam huh...lol. The settings are fixed now.
