12-1 lighting schedule, has anyone actually tried this?

Ok as today, I switched back to my regular 18 - 6. Based on my Experience of my current grow, I have been doing the 12 - 1 for a little bit over a month and I have a veg. tent with 5 Plants. As today i can tell you all my 5 plants are pre-flowering since the change in the 12 -1. I have the Big mother Showing Pistils like a MOTHAF... and the remaining 4 I saw their firsts hairs today.

I had big hopes for the 12 -1 Schedule for electricity saving and concealment issues, however it did not work for me. I will use in my next run the the Flowering Decreasing Cycle from 13 all the way down to 8. Let you know about the results in 3 months.

Sorry guys but the 12-1 did not work for me, if is working for you ! Hip-Hip Hooray ! Hip-Hip Hooray !

Maybe attempt 12-1 from the get go, think you will see better results, just my IMO but mixing schedules is good for no plant.

after a while in veg you will show pre you are aware of this?
its just a plant that is mature enough to produce.

So on the same day you switched back to 18-6 your plants started looking the way you wanted? Really? Decreasing light will not cause flowering.

My brother in MJ, my mothers plant over a year and half old. No pistils never during the 18-6, trust me I had high hopes for the 12-1

No my brotha, I had the 12-1 for a month and a few days. Today I'm switching back to my normal 18-6. I've been growing for over 3 years and using the 18-6 since the day #1, I decide to become a grower for my own personal use and master this craft.

As the part of decreasing light will be once I start flowering around January, right now I need my girls i Veg. Mode so they can get BIG

i use 2 tents, in 1 room there is 2x magnum xxxl's with 6" ducting and lumantec ballasts. in the other a standard magnetic ballast and barn reflector,
15 litre air pots. For soil i use BioBizz All Mix, for nutes i run bio-bizz line consisting of bio-grow, bio-bloom and topmax, i also use 1 Tbsp per gal molasses once a week in flower.
when i read the responses saying no it not right i laugh but at the same time get a little frustrated because i know for a FACT it works first hand. As for 30% increase i cant speculate on that until im finished.
i had to run 2 rooms as when my veg period was over the plants were getting bushier and bushier so had to setup the spare tent,
ps thanks for the compliment.
also a pic from the other room with magnetic ballast in, really hate the interference from them.

not sure how this 12-1 is supposed to work,
i did wonder how it would work, if you gave the plants, the same photo period 12 on 12 off, but only give 5-6 hours of intense light
like plants outdoors they do not get 12 hours of strong direct light, they may only get the morning or mid day sun and be shaded for 5-6 hours perday and still grow great outside,
i was thinking of trying, hps for 5-6 hours, then low level cfl for the other 6 hours, i would like to see how much the yield would decrease , the amount of power saved could be used to grow more, or save on power costs :)

i have herd of the 18 hour light schedule 6 on 12 off and that basically takes advantage of the plant producing and using light best in the first 6 hours of the day.......... it saves 6 hours a day they say finishes 2 weeks sooner with only a slight decrease in yield............and it makes sence

i have not heard that one before, 6 hours on seems like a short photoperiod i have read below 9 hours and the plants is basicly drying off or riping
i have never tried anything below 11-10 hours for a photoperiod not sure i would want to risk a 6 hour one, ..
there doesnt seem to be much info around really, 12/12 is the only photo period as far as most are aware :)

Actually the 12-1 schedule is a full schedule for veg & flowering...

12-1 is veg
11-13 week 1-2 flower
10.5-13.5 week 3-4
10-14 week 5-6
9.5-14.5 week 7-8
any remaining weeks 9-15

You know, it's november in Quebec. Frost outside, shitty daylight hours.
We've still got 11 hours of daylight. Why are you suggesting this crazyness of going well under those hours? You're just lowering your yield at this point. You aren't emulating "mother nature" cause no one gets that short of day light unless it's covered in snow outside. Then, there are no flowering cannabis plants around you know what I mean?

Imo: above post is stupid shit, whereas 12-5-1-5 may work for saving minimal amounts of energy during veg.

You are absolutely right, however we are talking here about that type of schedule help the indoor farmers with their electric bill, nothing more. Good to know you like the Power of the Sun, me however Love the Indoor cuz i can control everything from A to Z.

Ha ha, yeah somehow completely wandered off, I thought it was about growing the biggest of all trees.

hmmm its november in ontario too .. how strange.. frost too as a matter of fact .. yep 11 hrs of daylight that wont grow a thing because its too cold out ..so we grow indoors giving the plant what it needs so we can reap a harvest ...hmmm crazyness and lowering your yield how did you figure that?? ohhh sorry you just guessed and dont really understand it ... well maybe just maybe you should read up on the reasons and application of the diminishing flowering light schedule when used with the 12-1 veg schedule .. then maybe just maybe you can seem intelligent when you comment on it .. sounds like a plan doesnt it

happy growin
