CLONE.... is this normal?

ok so yes i admit im a noob lol
so im about 4 weeks in to veg and i desided i would take some clones
i took a total of 16 off of 4 plants
i used clonex gel and rapid rooter plugs
i went to check on them after about a hour
and to my suprise they have all fallen over
is this normal?
or did i screw sumthing up bad?
pleasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssse help
as always thanks in advance for any input

had the same problem. its usually normal for the leaves to flop over but if the stem is bent, just toss em. from pass experience all of my bent over ones ended up dying. next time you take clones try takin bigger ones with thicker stems.

i agree about the leaves dropping over.. this is because they no longer have a root system to supply them with water that is needed.. do you have them in a humidity dome or anything atm??

no i dont have a dome over them i was at a hydro shop 2day and bought the rapid rooter was going to buy a dome but the guy at the store said i wouldnt need 1?????????????????????
should i buy 1?
if i get it in the morning is there any chance for these cuttings?

you can always use tupperware and saran wrap with holes in it until you can get the dome. Anyway to get those clipping in a high humidity environment will help ensure their survival and be sure to not place them under direct light for at least a week or two

yah, they still have a chance by the sounds of things.. pix would definitely help though..

but yah, i don't know why he told you that you don't need a dome, as like i said earlier, the thing with clones is that they don't have a root system obviously, so the only way that they can get water is through the through their leaves.. so by keeping the humidity higher, they have more moisture available to them at all times till the root system has a chance to develop..
get the dome, and simply spray the leaves on the clones with some water a couple of times a day, then put the dome back on.. you can take the dome off like 2x's a day to allow some fresh air in, then replace it when you're down..
within a week to ten days, you should start seeing roots and can transplant them into their new homes.. :)

did you buy the heat mat and thermostat? I spent over 100 bux on shit to clone in rockwool when I have a perfectly good diy aerocloner.I'm using the diy aerocloner now and more than likely will stick with that since it seems much faster.

direct light is fine but a humidity dome was a must I thought, I've had clones wilt like that in the aerocloner when I forgot to plug the pump back in.

nice, a hydro store that's not pushing shit at you, I chose to buy the heat mat and thermostat, actually I chose to buy the heat mat, didn't realize I'd need a thermostat too. I suppose temperature may not be that important but I've been told 75-85 this would require a little heating depending on the room.

ok so i just went and found a plastic tuper ware tray and put that over them for now i will go first thing in the morning and get the dome. i took the clipping about 2 hours ago
do you think they are garbage now or you think they can still make it?

most def, this is a tough plant.They'll probably perk right up when you see condensation in the makeshift dome. I'd like to recommend aero cloning but I guess its not for everyone.
