Another week has gone by and these babies are growing like ...weeds! I've started adding a little Schultz's liquid plant food (really cheap stuff) along with the Liquid Karma. I had bought a gallon of Alaska Fish Fertilizer but when I opened it I decided I'm not putting that stuff in the same room that I sleep in.

I thought I would show my little ghetto grow tent too. It's made of panda film stapled to 1x2's. I should have bought semi-rigid foam insulation and cut it down and duct taped the edges; it would have cost less and would not have taken half a day to build like this one. I way underestimated the time to build this. You can see something rolled up on top; that's a space blanket that I use to black out the light leaks from the door when I go to bed. Works fine and it's something I already had.

They're looking great PP! I especially like the Panda Tent. I did just about the same thing building my drying cab, using up the extra Panda I had. ('course yours looks a lot better than mine did!) That is really nice!

Looking nice PP, I just read begining to end. :) Sweet tent, I love DIY stuff - great multi-strain selection too!

Question... I've seen people mentioning Dr. Greenthumb seeds, you folks are the first people I've seen discussing them. I've googled them before and saw they were out of Canada apparently? There was a guy here in Rhode Island that called himself Dr Greenthumb. He was a good grower, way above average... I know he did this for at least 10 years. However I'm not sure he's involved currently. I heard through the grapevine he got in trouble with the law. Anyways, I'm not sure if he copped that name from DG seed's or if this is the same guy?

Any thoughts on that?

Thanks Jack. I'm going to have to do something about the smell very quickly; it hits you in the face as soon as you open the bedroom door.

Just don't have any guests. Tell 'em the house is quarantined for Dengue Fever or something.

Another week goes by and more pix. This is my first grow in this particular soil mix, the nutes, and the strains. I've discovered that Ice is very nute sensitive and so is the Jock Horror. The PPP and IG13 had a few burnt edges but not much. Sunday I decided it was not Mg deficiency but rather nute burn so I flushed them good.

Yesterday, I swear they grew 2" and another 2" today. I can't have that happy shit going on so I topped them. I was going to anyway but since they are extremely healthy looking again and have lots of new growth, I decided tonight was the time.

I bought some Dyna-Gro Grow and Foliage Pro but I'm not going to use either one until the plants tell me they need it.

I still don't know what order RIU will put the pix in so I'll post the before the topping here, then the after the topping underneath.

Here are the plants after topping. I am not concerned with how many colas I get; I topped high enough to get a bunch of branching and that's what I want; I want bushes for clones. Remember that these are my mother plants and I'm not in a hurry. I lollipopped most of them (except the PPP and IG13 which were too short), took the good cuttings and made clones out of them. I dipped them in Clonex and put them in Rapid Rooters, then under a dome, with a heat mat underneath. I put about 1/4" of water in the bottom to keep them hydrated. If they make it, woopee; if not, no big deal; I wasn't wanting babies right now anyway. If they get roots I'll give them to a friend that works at the grow shop.

Thank Massah! I had to pick up some little trays tonight for the clones; they were falling over in the big tray with the dome. I did away with the dome but I do have some water in the bottom of the big tray and the smaller ones in the big tray. Also, I top dressed the buckets with some MG Organic Growers Choice potting soil; that added another 25% depth. They were very light and dry so I also mixed up some Dyna Gro Foliage Pro.

FINALLY more pix and an update! So it took 14 days for the clones to start getting roots. Last night I found 5 that had roots sticking out and today I found 4 more. I know they look like hell but what can you expect for being cut off and without any nutrition for two weeks? I know someone in need of some plants so I'm going to gift these to them. The reason I even took the cuttings was because I needed to top them and lollipop them a little. I think I threw away 3 that didn't make it, 9 that have roots and the rest of them will have roots within a couple of days I'm sure. I have the three cups of clones on top of the lights so the roots will get the heat and I'm sure there is enough light for them there too. The rooted clones are in the red party cups just inside the door. I buried the Rapid Rooters in MG Organic Growers Choice (my fav) potting soil and watered them in with a little Superthrive.

The moms are looking awesome, very healthy and getting very bushy. The IG13 is so damn bushy that the nodes are about 1/2" apart! The PPP is probably not over 3/4" between nodes too. I need to top the colas again but I'm dreading it because I know how much bushier they will get. Feel free to comment.
