Lets play "name the nute"..

I use fox farm nutes and I'm wondering what are the equivalent from other nute companies.

This hit me the other day when I was looking at Piranha and tarantula which go with liquid carbo load, since I'm using the carbo load I almost bought the others.
But after a little research I found out that my fox farm micro brew and kangaroots were the same things..

I'm at the point where I'd like to be able to mix and match what will work best for me but listening to a salesman isn't my thing.

So lets play name the nute or equivalent from other brands.
I'll start off with my fox farm.

Big bloom
Grow big
Tiger bloom

Micro brew =Piranha
Kangaroots = tarantula

Open sesame
Beastie blooms
Cha Ching.

Suggestions on what I or others might want to try would be great too.
So lets help each other achieve greatness together.

I would recommend picking a brand of nutes and using all the products that they recommend. I really wouldn't mix and match until you feel that you have a really good grasp on what part the supplements play in the feeding process and how a particular strain behaves.
I personally have been having excellent results using General Hydro Flora Series. I follow the drain to waste expert program and just water by hand. Media is Roots Organic Coco in 3 gallon smart pots. Been loving the results.
Just my 2 cents:leaf:

Canna Terra Rhizotonic Boost Cannazym...Canna Nutes are the best I have used out of all of them IMO. They doubled my yield almost.

try jacks classic and you will never go back, just saying. for $25 bucks you can get your veg and flower nutrients and they work BETTER than the entire fox farm line, including solubles.

I know a guy who uses mg 20 20 20 its $5 and Shults bloom plus10 54 10 also $5. If that guy gets yellow leaves during flower he uses the mg for a watering.

doesn't humboldt-

have a class action against them right now for incorporating ornamental only heavy metals into their ferts.

do we know each other? lol

fert companies want it to be confusing, resulting in the belief you need more of their stuff. read some of riddleme and uncle ben's threads. or. read up on botany and you will learn what all of these chems do and how to read your plants response to their use.

less IS more. guaranteed.

use DYNA GRO, or JACK'S for complete 1 part nutes. with bigger plants or r/o use, cal mag supplements are a must. with white well water(full of shit), 10 mL of dyna, 10 ml of cal mag, per gallon, for bigger plants, i also put a literal "pinch" of epsom per gallon for the magnesium .

trust me buddy. ditch the fox farm. for 20 dollars worth of jack's your garden will improve over night.
also. jack is a good guy. after you read the riddleme threads, call him(he'll actually take phone calls from intelligent people!), mention riddleme and his ramblings. then buy the hydro-mix. it was specially formulated for mary.

Not sure I would recommend the cheap nutes. Remember this is medicine that when smoked is going into the most absorbent part of your body. It's like the "you are what you eat" theory. I really really like "House & Garden". Doesn't have a fancy name, but it will absolutely maximize your plant potential. Based out of Holland and established in 1990 by Van de Zwaan. He devoloped nutrients for other big companies before starting up his own nutrient company. One of the ONLY brands on the market that has their own labs for R&D. They also own large greenhouses in Holland where everything is tested before market. They do their own manufacturing and have some of the strictest quality controls out there. Every batch is tested. Super high quality ingredients. This line works very well for mary jane. Base nutes that are specifically geared towards your growing medium. Even one for Coco. The con is the price. About the same as Humbodlt, but leaps and bounds ahead in the field IMO. Watering does take a little longer due to the mixing process. You have to put Part A in and then wait 15-20 minutes to put Part B in.

Yes this is much more technical than normal nutes. It's because they understand the chemical reactions that take place when you combine different substances. It's real science.

I've rambled enough. Here is the website, so you can research it yourself and I don't fill the page. www.house-garden.us

go with a good three part series that allows you to adapt the amounts of each nutrient at each stage. using 1 fertilizer and hoping to get all the way through with it can work, but is certainly not optimal. If you are looking to save money try Cutting Edge Solutions 3 part (thats what I use) or X Nutrients 3 part, and for both companies the additives are wonderfully cheap. Both companies you can get a three part series for like 30 bucks i think, and their additives, most of them are like 10 to 15 bucks a bottle. Good nutes, cheap cost. You will deffinately get your 30 dollars worth
