i have my girls under 6 t8s in veg 4 5000k bulbs and then 2 warmer 3000k bulbs. not only have the stems been thicker under this than my 400w mh, but it draws less power and that was what sold me. that and i can get the bulbs for near free. a t8 ballast at home depot is 79.99. plus bulbs you are then looking at a total cost of 140. and you save estimated 25 per month on electric.

I'm not sure it would save me that much, with everything I'm running before I turned on the last 1000 watter and blowers I was only running $179 a month. That was 2 1000's flower 3 600's and a 400 for veg.

What type of ballast were you running before the switch, I know when I upgraded my ballasts my bill went way down too.

I think they are two weeks now cupped right out of the cloner.
The 3rd pic is the same plant in the op, and it was left in the cloner for a few more days after the op pic was taken.

how do you like the bush master product? ive used it on my last grow with a sativa who was such a tall bitch. it helped some but the plant was still almost 6' tall in the end and about 4' wide. really bushy plant tho... much more so than the control plant i had right next to her in a rdwc... i used it as a foliar spray

Sharks Breath in the 3 1/2 gallon buckets and Red Dragon in the 7 gallon pots.
Freshly flush and ready to flower.

I've limited the growth on the sharks breath to 4 and 5 branches so I will have no other growth then the tops.
The red dragon is also under some LST but the plant has not been restricted.

The problem I have with smart pots is every time you move them the soil loosens and cracks.
Doesn't seem to be sturdy enough for the way I am constantly moving them around.

Same here and you can't stake them cause the soil moves so freely! I love the results though. I'm in the process of making a LST platform that would be used like a drip tray so you can tie and train with moveable stakes that are attched from the bottom plate.

You can always go this way for LST on soft pots until you get your base done..
We use these paper clips and string that would also work for you, as long as you balance the pull with branch from the opposite side of the plant.
I get them at Meijers or wallmart for about $4 and there are 3 different sizes in the tub of 100.2011-11-10 15.04.49.jpg

I started with smart pots and loved the results but hated the price. Then one day while at Dollar General I noticed there reusable/for sale grocery bags. 75 cents each, hold about 5 1/2 gals double stitched with kick ass handles. They work great for botton feeding even, (which is why i liked smartpots so much to begin with).

I bottom feed using standard pots.
I love the way it gets the roots to dig and fill the bottom of the pot.
It helps them get plenty of oxygen as it dries out too.

There is a new pot out I've been looking at.
It's got holes all over it, but they say a 3 gallon pot is like a 5 gallon pot to the plant.
You buy them flat and have to put them together, even the bottom is adjustable.
Trying to find a link but for some reason I can't right now.

It's like a hard pot with grow bag qualities..

Airpots is what theyre called, seen them, havent tried them though.

i have 7 gallon smart pots. like 20 of them or so, you can have them if your interested. but i still think you should go to water.

I've had a couple of harvest since and replenished one of the flower tents with the clones pictured in the begining.
Lemon G and Sharks breath.

Plants are staggered by two weeks 1/2 a week and 2 1/2 weeks.

Here a a couple of shots of a few freebee's I threw in. The Original amnesia is the most impressive so far. She's shooting up with 2 sharks breath, a Confidential Cheese and a Burmese Kush. Coming to the end of their 4th week.

Thinking about moving the CO2 and help them pack on weight.
