I am looking at starting a DWC SCROG and I had a couple of questions if someone could help me out. First, I am planning on running 3 600w HPS for the veg stage and was wondering how high do the plants usually grow in a SCROG setup? Second, how many plants should I be running in a 10x10 area with the 3 600's for veg and 3 1000's for flower? If anyone has any input that would be awesome.

First, you dont start using the screen until you start to flower and then you set the screen to your desired height. And although it works, vegging with hps can cause some stretching. MH would be better, but I understand if you dont have a choice. Second, with 5 gal DWC buckets you could maybe do 5x5, so 25. Just a guess. And you may need a 4th unit to get even coverage over the entire room. Id run 4 600's personally they whole grow, but you may cover it with 3 1000's.

The screen should be installed from the very beginning. The idea is to bend the plant into a horizontal position and train the branches as it vegetates. Once you have the screen 70-80% covered with the plants trained into position, you begin flowering process. The idea is tricking the branches into thinking the screen level is actually ground level.

ya i agree you instal the screen right from the beginnig (i use a SCROG) you let all the branches grow up through the screen 3 inches then move them to the next hople out till the whole screen is full. then you wait till there all 2 inches above screen and you flower. as for DWC, it will take a good 2 months almost of good veg to get a fat ass screen but with DWC you can use less plants. id say for a 10x10 area you can probably do 8 massive ones comfrtably, i bet you could squeeze alot more buti like bigger plants as opposed to shit tons of small ones, makes things easier. but your veg room needs to be your flowering room for a SCROG as you wont be able to move the plants once they hit the net. if done properly the buds will all rise about 10-12 inches above the net and the net will be about 1 foot from the top of your pots, matbe even less
Thank you for all the input and this is what I was thinking maybe I have it right, maybe not. Starting from clones I would install my screen immediately and train the plants to grow around the screen until about 80% covered (time not a factor?), then flip it to flower...but how tall would they possibly get? Also, plants would be in a 5gal DWC.

It'll take as long as it takes to fill that screen... depends on strain and environment.
I've been growing for a long time but this is my first scrog. I've taken to it pretty well.

I did. The flower shot you see is two weeks worth of stretch.
See? This is where I was when I started flowering:
I was even tucking and training until the last moment.
And I always have great branch strength to support even the heaviest buds.
