The Lost Art of Foliar Feeding

Okay so could you grow hydro dwc, hempy, w/e and use just water in the tank then use foliar feed for nutrients?

Would love to see someone try it.

Kelp + fulvic, or just kelp.

If you can't see the morphological changes in your plant, you ain't doing it right or you're a new grower. :P

**i always foliar w/ some loud amazon jungle sounds of rain/birds :) ..<3 calcarb
LOL. But I can't agree with the Calcarb statement, but I'm horribly bias against AN.

edit: nevermind good sir, I had a brainfart and got my product names mixed up. Calcarb huh? That reminds me that I have a bag of that sitting unopened in a tote in my basement. May have to give it a shot one of these days, I've been very pleased with Xtreme's other products so far.

One of your post said that you foliar feed 1 hour before they wake up. What if I do not have that option? Would foliar feeding 1-2 hours before they go to sleep be an issue?

That's fine, but do not substitute foliar feeding for feeding at the roots.

After years of gardening, I've rethunk my view of foliar feeding or using it to correct nutrient disorders. There is no art to foliar feeding and no real value compared to uptake by the roots. This busts the myth regarding the value of foliar feeding, where "it" all started, etc.

http://www.puyallup.wsu.edu/~Linda Chalker-Scott/Horticultural Myths_files/Myths/Foliar feeding.pdf
So is there NO value in this technique? Yes the roots absorb BY FAR more than the leafs... What about when it rains in nature? Explain Uncle Ben.. I know you have alot of knowledge to explain...

JUST A THOUGHT......................
Kind of like marijuana being a schedule 1 drug because it has NO medical Known uses but the U.S. Government holds a Patent for cannabinoids for pharmaceutical applications not related to smoking it....

so there is anytime that you would consider NOT! foliar feeding, and I'm not talking about stages of the plant. Would it matter at what time i foliar feed whether sleeping or awake?

Foliar spray if you have a deficiency. If you do, then there's something wrong with your root system, soil, nutrient solution. Does that make sense?

There is no substitute for root uptake. Nutrient salts are indigenous to the soil, not the air.

This is fast becoming my fave for micro deficiencies. You can buy out of Florida. I got a couple of pints free from Home Depot....with a grin and a smile. http://www.southernag.com/docs/labels_msds/chcitr.pdf

Compare the quality and low pricing with a similar hydroland product: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100599817&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=100599817&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googlebase-_-D28X-_-100599817&locStoreNum=589

I run flood tables with multiple strains growing simultaneously on occasion and find foliar feeding helpful in keeping the more nute hungry plants happy.

Hi on and all.. I tried a sample of Liquid-Light : foliar feed and have to say the leaves loved it... its weird because you apply the spray WITH THE LIGHTS ON !! :) you mix the LL with an applicator..which opens up little holes in the leaves.. then the LL does its thing and allows the leaves to intake more light etc and speeds up the process of photosynthesis. My lady loved it and I will defo be using it again upon my next grow :) :) - STELTHY :leaf:

Whoever said you have to have the lights off? I can see thousands of farmers who foliar feed their crops spraying their fields in the dark LOL.

The issue is the stomata (the "holes") closing down because of high heat.

Liquid Light? You gotta be shittin' me. You just took it in the hiney ho! 1 liter of more Dutch hype and bullshit for $40? Metabolites? Amino acids, hah! Where are the electrolytes? I don't see no frickin' electrolytes!

Dutch Master Gold Range Liquid Light foliar spray is designed to dramatically improve the way your plant processes your HID or flourescent lighting. Amazingly, it gives your plants the equivalent of up to 60% more usable light!
Liquid Light is a formula of selected Amino Acids, Metabolites, and Phospholipids that works by supercharging the chloroplasts, tiny specialized cells in the leaves of your plant that processes light and give them their natural green color.
These cells are the solar powered engines that are responsible for turning the light and CO2 into sugar. The more light these cellular powerhouses process the more sugar they make.
The increased plant sugar that Dutch Master's Liquid Light generates stimulates more growth, stronger plant development and ultimately more flower or fruit yield.
Dutch Master recommends applying Liquid Light when your grow lights are ON and will be for at least the next 3 hours.
