Look at the sun... Have you ever seen the SUN look blue?


All plants grow under the sun and that is what you should copy to get best results...

When you look at the sun , it's not the same as the plant looking at the sun you do not see the spectrum the plant uses.
Its also my opinion that Plants vegging under and MH bulb as appose to hps have shorter gaps between the nodes, i have tried both ways....

I would BEG the differ...

There is more GREEN spectrum in the MH more than anything and PLANTS do NOT respond to GREEN spectrum....

Look at the spectrum of MH and HPS and you will see the difference.... But if you like MH ok and I like HPS.... I have reasons YOU dont mate!!!

OK you are RIGHT...........

I asked a question... And the spectrum the PLANTS USE and what we see are different... You just did NOT understand what I was meaning....

Different approaches can work though , im just saying what works for me , I know people who only use HPS with no issues at all , i guess its whats prefered

I think the main points are that yes the Hps dual spectrum bulbs do carry some blue , and also there is some green in the Mh bulb , But alot more blue than the dual bulbs , plants love to veg under blue , i think thats why some stretching can occur when using just hps , imo

hows your eyes after starring at the sun long enough to see the full spectrum....lol.. including the ones our eyes dont see but plants do??
theres more to the sun than hps colours and different colours at different stages for triggering hormones to shape a plant.

and this isnt a metal halide...its a conversion bulb and is heavy in the red. there is no 600 mh from what i know. just the conversion bulbs

look up what triggers auxins and what triggers cytokins and is my reasoning.,..homronal ballances to grow plants the way we want them to grow.

i will say like last page on shorter veg times a mh or blue is a waste. if we do a long veg as in months, then yes its benneficial.
if i had to buy my own gear i wouldnt buy mh ever. there is on average 30% blue in the dual hps. blue travels further and is a more powerfull colour so it dosent need a full blue output. the 30% will do to replace the mh. and now we get almost double the output pentrating by using the hps. with way more lumen output.
i hear about this stretch using hps but i cant seem to do it unless im using the bulb way to far away.

I hear what your saying , and i too do not like to waste money , normally i vegg anywhere between 1month - 1.5 months , all my ballasts pretty much will take either bulbs , on the lower wattage 1's 250 -400 , i wanted to have a replacement bulb always ready just incase , so on these i bought MH bulbs as i sometimes use the lower 1's for veg , since i changed to the mh bulbs , i have noticed a smaller node spacing , when trying to fill a smaller area with dwarf plants this can prove very useful , i think in the perfect world a HPS bulb and some supplimental side mh lighting would be ideal , maybe my next experiment

no those are all my own creations. 4 different strains going in there. the pots are numbers from 1 to 4 now to keep me on track what is what. nothing has been named yet so id like to do that for this run. wont make the final decision till i harvest and smoke some. ill be also making more seed of the ones i decide to keep and work with.
ya on the light and veg. i concider average veg or the shorter veg as a 3 week veg. for me your month and a half would be 50/50 to me using mh or the conversion bulb. i hate conversion as they are weeker but in 600 cant get a mh. ya my ballast are the smart ballast technology so no switching anything to run diff voltages or bulb types, and has the 25/75/100% settings to

i do have 1 cut of Og in the smaller tent. little under the weather so ill work it to a mom and start cloning down the road.

so ive decided to force these to flower tonight. i need the room so need to find my males and weed them out along with the males. once i make room in there ill add some of the kush clones i have.
Veg bulbs have been swapped out now for 600 hortilux hps bulb. all my clones are now in 1 gal grow bags

been away a bit. in and out of the hospital. seems my illness has kicked it up a notch. took a ton of males out since last update and replacing them as i go with my clones. the seed i was using where weeker ones being the end of the bag. some even white. i was surprised to even have so many sprout. but was mostly males.

that bulb in the link isnt a mh even though it says it is. its a conversion bulb. mh arent small in diameter like those and hps are. conversions are. thats why most use these conversion for veg as there isnt 600 true mh. its a ceramic mh wich is basicaly same as a conversion but less output. just more white to foll us to make it look brighter but its not.

ya there is no feeling better. we dont recover from what im sick with. its been almost 10 years but as i get closer to the end i go through up`s and down`s...more downs than the others....lol
