CANADA To Ban All Personal Growing By 2012 WTF

I disagree. Too many people are growing their own weed. For every bust there's 2 new growers starting. This war will not be over until we the people have cannabis regulated like alcohol and cigs.

Its time for a change. So is the ontario court with talino the 12th of this month?

its not like growing is LEGAL right now anyways.
6 more days.
I just printed off all the forms and did all my prep work for my card, i didnt read anything like the original post in there. (all forms and doctor pdfs, health canada site, canadian laws etc)
although i was suprised to find that the laws have a few grey areas for under 6 plants and i could have qualified years ago!!

california man - stay there!! we dont have any extra sleds or igloos for you atm.

I know one thing... my wife and i don't need the extra stress in our lives.

Just grow 5 plants using RDWC. That makes it under the 6 plant law. U can grow 2 1/2 pounds with 5 plants using RDWC.

Peace

Problem is, the "6 plants" law is only addressing manditory jail time. 5 plants isn't legal, and you can even get jail time, it's just not mandatory.

From what I have heard recently (reliable legal source, but I can't name it so take it for what it's worth) no major changes will happen until 2013, and H.C. plans to give licence holders 13 months from the changes to observe them. That means nothing for at least 3 years to grow, and knowing our government ANYTHING can happen in 3 years, but most likely nothing will happen at all!

I read up, and follow all the news about this stuff just like everyone else, but really, I take it all with a whole lotta skepticism until it actually happens. I'm optimistic that things will remain as they are for quite a while before any licencing changes happen.

......but that's just me.

As a Canadian, what can I do to speed this process up? I'm having a hard time finding a doctor to prescribe medical marijuanna. I'm fed up and I see everyone feeling the same way. If everyone feels the same way why the heck aren't we starting a big rally thing like the occupy movement? If we want a change we need to make a stand and let them hear the voices of the entire country.

Where do we go from here? We need to act now and stop putting it off.

This new development looks like a step in legalizing our favorite plant. The government can then sell licensing on a federal or provincial level for producers to cultivate and sell the product. Pretty much like the current situation with alcohol in Canada. Highly regulated and highly taxed.

Having said that, Canada has made room for microbreweries and specialty wineries. The companies simply have to meet federal and provincial requirements before they can sell their product.

And we can make beer and wine at home from kits. Maybe that will be an option.

The only reason a government gives you a licence for is so they can take it away.

I'm sorry I got my licence and feel like a DS for doing it the right way.

Just do as you were going to IMO. This change to the law will not stand up to a constitutional challenge.

I think with the proposed changes doctors will only have to say yes if you ask them if you should continue using pot to help control symptoms (a lot of them will, although they might not sign forms). They seem to want to eliminate the forms part of it and put it on the doctor, so if your doc suggests you continue to use for symptom control, prescribed or not, I think you are in the clear as long as it's on record in your chart (it will be). In a sense this makes things easier, in another sense it's total corporatist horse crap. I honestly doubt the changes will hold up.

I don't think it will stand up to a challange but in the mean time they will find a way to hassel us. Like not sending cards out and underfunding the department. That's why it can take forever to get your papers back.

Hey guys, there are some big changes supposed to come to the medical program and possibly the weed laws themselves here in Canada. Check out the Matt Mernagh case, he is set to appear before the federal court on May 6/7 to fight against the terrible mess the medical program is currently in. Last time he was in court the judge struck down our weed laws, giving the govt 90 days to fix them or else they would be deemed unconstitutional and weed would be legal. Even though Harper passed C10 the laws could get struck do not again... Here's hoping...
