I found a good deal on one of these and was thinking about picking it up. I just don't want to run into more problems trying to get rid of the heat that the a/c unit will put off. thanks guys

Dude it is about to be winter.... No need for AC .... You have a 4" intake and a 6" exhaust... What is the CFM rating for each fan???? I bet this is your problem...

I am running 2 600 watters and my room temp is at 73

Have a 800 CFM High Output Can Fan..... If you are running carbon filter with low CFM rated inline fan you will not have enough air movement to cool tent....

Yeah it should work fine just dont run co2 with one of those single hose units.. That will cool your tent in a heart beat...Honestly look for one on Craigs list, thats what I did I got my 9,000 BTU for like 100 bucks when I was growing out my closet... Have you looked into a strong fan might be cheaper something in the 300-400 CFM

an update on Air pots!

they're starting to annoy me. i got a bunch of, .3 (that's point 3) gallon pots. nice size units, a bit bigger than our standard party cups. i have seedlings in these and in party cups. i typically water a decent amount (it's all by feel these days), close the vegging closet door and ignore them for 2 to 3 days.

last night i noticed that the seedlings in the party cups are a nice dark green and are doing well. they don't need watering. the seedlings in the air pots look less green, are not as big and are very dry. like i should have watered them at least a day ago. the seedling mix i used had no ferts in it. i was too lazy to drive for 20 mins to get some light warrior! at about 12 days of vegging, the air pot plants look like they need some ferts and the party cup ones don't. i find this rather odd! i gave them a shot of 1/4 strength veg nutes last night.

i forgot to allow for the extra air in the air pots. those suckers dry out quick and i'll now be giving them twice as much water as the party cups to hopefully even out when everybody needs watering.

watering air pots is a big pain in the ass! i don't like tiny pains in the ass let alone big ones. i have a good mix of soil and perlite in the pots. i use a turkey baster to water my party cups and these air pots. using 1/2 a turkey baster of water, the water in the air pots will stand on top for 30 seconds or more before it's absorbed into the soil AND some of the water will pour, not drip but pour our of a couple of the holes that are well below the top of the pot. then i put in another 1/2 a baster etc. took about 5 times as long to water these pots. i watered the party cups in a few mins. fill a baster, shoot it in the cup! done!

i'm seriously reconsidering ordering larger air pots. i'm not about to spend an hour bent over trying to water these things. i have a 2.4 gallon air pot and i really need to put a currently flowering plant into it to see if it's going to be a pain too. my smart pots take water like a champ!

i'm probably going to copy this same message at an air pot thread. i'm lazy!

Why would you use such small airpots? I use both 1gal smartpots and plastic pots and have noticed the smartpots take longer before they are stable enough to transplant.

I use smartpots also and love them

i've been using party cups for my vegging plants forever. these are bigger so even better, supposedly!

i typically grow many seedlings in order to have 20 plus fems to choose from for flowering. the closet i'm currently using for vegging will hold about 45 seedlings in these size pots. if i used one gallon grow bags, my seedling number would be almost halved, thereby making me nervous that i won't have as many plants as i typically flower which is 16. i currently have 19 plants in flower (not counting 4 seedlings that have yet to show sex and will probably be killed off soon). one is a runt and 2 are very skinny. i may toss them. and taaa daaa! i end up with my 16!

I hear the same over and over with air pots.........require more water.....have to water slowly so water doesn't spill at the edges......I like simple.......and those type of things make things complicated by adding to the work load..........I don't knock anybody for using them but they are not for me...

I havent turned the AC on in a couple weeks my 675 CFM fan keeps the 1000W cool and the room about 79 degrees

I just purchased a 8" 800CFM High Output fan and my room temps went from 77-79 degrees to 70-73 degrees... Big difference... I had a 6" 600CFM prior to this...

I love the air pots I dont have any problems watering them, for soil are they drying out to quick on you??? Of course I'm using top drip recirculating so I'm never drying out. I just changed my watering schedule to 15 min on and 45 min off. I have a friend who does soil in air pots and he told me he's been "dunking them" I guess water logging air pots isnt so easy.

My auto flower in the airpot is doing good. I don't water that often but should I be? Haven't seen any deficiencies and the buds are smelling and looking nice so I don't know. Id say I water about once a day or once every other day. Is this wrong?

i'm seriously thinking of going with 3 gallon smart pots over the air pots. i'm like 90% sure! i've read for hours and hours on air vs smart and smart and air vs normal pots. it always comes down to one thing for me. the number of comments about how it takes longer to water and it's a pain in the ass was eye opening. extra work is not what i'm looking for. i'm not talking about 2 or 4 plants. i'm talking 16 or so in a confined space.

how do you keep soil from falling out the bottom? i had to use moss.

there were a number of people who said that they used air pots once or twice then went with or back to smart pots.

i spent a couple of hours looking into drip systems and then stopped! i'm not looking for a different way to grow! i'm just trying to tweek the way i'm most comfortable. i'm going to wait until next month to make the final decision. 12 to 16 2.4 gallon air pots or smart pots.

i gave them all a thorough, heavy watering last night. i was shocked at how much those 2 gallon smart pots drank. it took no time at all. this is a good thing!

i have a bunch of .3 gallon air pots with seedlings and a few party cups. i watered them the same. a couple days ago i took a good look in the closet and was shocked at how shitty the air pot plants look. i realized that i underwatered them but they weren't drooping or anything so i think i caught it in time. the problem is every one of the seedlings (2 or 3 different genetics) are all small and light green in color. the party cup plants (2 or 3 different genetics) are all bigger, dark green and beautiful. i'm seriously thinking of tossing the air pot seedlings and doing it again.

the difference is very noticible. i can only attribute it to underwatering for about a week. i gave them a good wetting with 1/4 strength nutes and am hoping they start to look like they're more beautiful counterparts.
i'll take a side by side pic when they wake up.

they definately take more watering. i doubled the amount that i watered the air pot vs the party cups. i'm going to have to watch them more carefully.

it was nice to look out the window this morning and not see anything but wetness on the windows! i spent a few hours looking at bicycles yesterday. i'm seriously thinking of getting a cruiser model. 7 speeds... very cool looking. i'd be styling!

catch a nice buzz and tool around the quiet neighborhood at sunrise. there's also some kind of trail just down the street. animals from the desert wander down it and into the neighborhood. i see a bunch of jackrabbits over the year. quail too! they might call it a nature trail or something like that.

Thats what I am doing right now.. Every 2 or 3 days.. Before I left for work I watered my party cup seedlings on day 3 by day 2 the top soil is dry.
