I'm assuming the grow spot is t the same as in the pics. Is that actual wattage or equivalant at 75 watts? It looks like there just isn't enough light penateation on the lower stuff and the plant is naturally shedding Un-needed leaves.

they're not getting enough light. put a couple of CFLs unshaded close to the middle of the plants and the leaves will either perk up or if they're already dead the plants will produce more leaves

haha oh god no thats not the grow spot, i just had them out looking at them.

this is my light and grow set-up. its pretty much basic as it gets. two 75w floros above and 1 on the bottom on the side. i spin the plants around to get light on the sides daily with the side light there. i can get more lights if thats what i NEED. that would be a easy fix.

first off get that light you got on the floor and light it up to main canopy leafs only take light energy from top of leafs not bottom of leafs try watering every 4 - 5 days instead of every other

well its not quite at the bottom as much is it giving light to the tops of the leafs half way up. i put one there cause all the leaves on the sides and bottom were dying off. i was actually about to go buy another to put on the other side of the plant so i dont have to spin it so much. as for watering, i water every other day or every 2 days because the pots im using arent very big so it uses most of its water pretty fast.awesome profile pic by the way!

Probably don't want to do it but either paint(looks like cedar walls so may not want paint) the inside flat white or line it with Mylar/ emergency blankets. It will help reflect light back into the plant.

i had aluminum foil all over those walls before but i moved plants to a cabinet. now they are back in the closet. ya ill do that and probably grab another light for the side and another for the top for starters but is that all you guys see wrong? dead leafs, spots, etc. like i said that'll be awesome if lights my only problem but i dont see that being all

Those are not 75-watt fluorescents. 2-foot T12s are typically 18 watts. You're badly starving your plants for light. CFLs are good because they pack similar to higher output into a much smaller package. cn

Agreed. The first post didn't show what lights were in play, the picture was added. It as assumed that they were as described.

They probably said "75 watt equivalent" referring to light output v. incandescents.
A 2-tube, 4-foot shop light draws 80 watts.

And a plant in soil will only be as healthy and happy as her root ball. I'm using 2-gallon nursery pots and will soon switch to 7-gallon cloth pots.

If you shop CFLs, don't be swayed by the "watt equivalent" numbers ... e.g. a "75 watt equivalent" CFL will actually draw 20 watts, and the smaller number is the one that matters to plants and their caretakers.
For flower, select 2700K "warm white" bulbs, preferably high-watt high-lumen numbers like 150 watts equivalent, 40 watts actual, 2650 lumens, color temp 2700. Here's an example ... two or three such would be a lovely addition to your cab, and your plant and ultimate headstash will thank you ... :bigjoint: cn

There is a tut somewhere on the net about growing with cfl bulbs. He strapped 3 8 inch 1x4 together with metal strap so he could shape it, put 1 light outlet in each 1x4 ran them all 3 in series and put a few at different levels around the plant. When the plants got bigger he puts splitters in each socket and added some more lights. He ran them from veg to bud and yielded a little over a qp each plant.
Just an idea. You definitely have a light and room issue. Those plants won't grow up against walls they will naturally kill off that veg to fit. Try a sea of green in that space.

when transplanting if the dirt falls out of the roots, its not going to hurt the plant is it??
