Free 4 foot parabolic reflector here

Hey guys, I recently upgraded my reflector to a cool tube, I have a 4 foot parabolic reflector. They sell for about $90, you can take it if you pay shipping. I didn't even use it for a month, I would rather someone use it than me throw it out. It works great, it was just too big for my small 5x5 grow area and it trapped heat in.

Now the down sides. My cooltube didn't come with a cord, so I had to snip the cord off the reflector. I snipped it on the cord's end and not the reflector's end, so there is quite a few inches for you to work with. I also managed to strip the ground screw, so I had to drill it out.

All you need is a standard screw to replace it, and a cord, this will cost you about $15 and this is on the high end.

I'm only asking $15 SHIPPING to Canada and US, I'm not sure how much it would be to other places so I'm going to say $20 for anywhere else.

it would work with 125/200w cfl's with the mogul base... but... thats a pretty gnarly huge reflector for 200w max

yea, I would only use a 600 watt or 1000 watt HPS/MH in this. You might get away even with a 400 watt, but they only do about 3x3 section where as this reflector is 4x4. If nobody wants it I'm going to donate it to the local hydro store, maybe they can sell it in a kit

I have 2x65w (300w equiv.) soft whites. The bulbs have the medium E26 base. I am very interested but you said it was too big for your 5x5 grow area. What size would be best for this?

You can use a soda pop can as a reflector. Actually saw a thread on that yesterday :-D
This reflector would be over kill for your 2x65w soft whites.

Would they be overkill in a bigger room?
Yes it would be overkill for ANY CFL application.Tthis is not a reflector made for CFL's...It's designed for HID...So all I gotta do it re-wire it and pay 15 bucks shipping? You got a paypal account??

yup, I got paypal I can PM you the address. 15 for shipping, it'll come disassembled with the screws in a baggie

Really, all you need is about 6x6 area and it should be OK but I'm no expert on parabolic reflectors. I had a box fan on while the lights were on to push the heat to the side but fans take power and a cooltube doesn't need any extra power

Funny thing is, I have no idea how i'm going to use it. I literally just recieved a big ass 2.5'x2' dual spectrum hood and ballast that runs 1 x 400w HPS and 1 x 400w MH at the same time in the same hood...Adding that to my pre-existing 400w hps and hood, and I'm not sure where I'm gonna put another giant reflector...lol

I'll give someone who needs it a chance to see this thread and snatch it up first, but if no one takes you up on the offer in the next couple days, just PM me...I'd be more than happy to have a disassembled parabolic reflector sitting in my closet until I move/upgrade...haha
