So I finally got a damn SD card for my camera...
I didn't get to take pictures of how the SSH's ended up but basically I ended up accidentally pollinating about 75% of them so I ended up pulling them early. They were so big and beautiful that I'm gonna run another 10-12 of them next time around. As amazing as these plushberrys are, SSH was the most beautiful and strong plant I've grown yet. As old as it is, It has the most potential of any of the plants I have now. Luckily I made f2's of them and I have like 150 seeds or something.
Right now I have 2 Plushberry, 2 True OG Kushes and 2 Pre-98 Bubba Kushes going. They're in some Miracle Grow Organic Choice that's been amended with composted chicken litter. That mix got me through all of veg. I use tap water and I don't use any pH buffers. They're in 3 gallon white and black grow bags and I've been feeding them with Earth Juice nutrients, Silica and Cal/Mg. I use herbal pesticide (Ed Rosenthal's Zero Tolerance).
Plushberry #1
This seems to be the winner pheno of the plushberrys I have growing at the moment. She's shorter, bushier, takes well to topping, has bigger buds and smells stronger. If she's potent then I'll truly have a keeper. The only thing is she isn't a purple pheno but that's ok. The rumors are true. This plants doesn't smell like any weed I've ever smelled. first you get a strong whiff of mint/wet vegetation smell. Pretty. Not like grass. Then you get Sweet tarts or Sour Patch Kids with a strong acrid tangerine/orange smell. It truly does smell like candy.
Plushberry #2
I thought this was 'the big green pheno' because it grew to over 3 ft tall with big thick stems and wasn't turning any colors, but as soon as the temperature dropped in the winter the buds put on a purple hue. The buds in this plant seem to be small for their age, but then again I've heard this isn't a huge yielding plant. I think they could use some P and maybe K, but I'll talk about that later. If this pheno is really potent I might just keep it just cause it's purple. It also has an amazing orange candy mint kush smell.
'True OG' #1
I was given some clones from a guy who owed me a few bucks. He got them from his grower friend who said they were 'True OG' and 'Pre-98 Bubba Kush'. This is the True OG. All I know about True OG is that it's supposed to be a classic expression of the OG line, but from what I can tell so far, this ain't it. The plant has a barely noticeable kush smell and is growing tiny popcorn buds. I think it might be an OG because of the thin stems, the hybrid looking leaves, and the small looking yield, but I know OG kush is supposed to stank... These are weak smelling. Hopefully it's potent...
I topped her once when I got her rooted and she lost her mind. she clones really easily too.
'True OG' ScrOG
I wanted to try some vert scrogging for the first time and I'm liking what I see. All scrog is kind of a PITA, but it looks like the yield already looks increased over the straight vert grow.
'Pre-98 Bubba Kush'
I was worried cause from what I heard it's hard to get your hands on a real bubba cut, but this sees to be at least hybrid of the real thing. I like what I'm seeing so far and if the weed is good I'll run it again next time. She's got a nice smell and the yield looks decent. I read that it finishes in 60 days which would be awesome. This one's in a small pot cause out of the 4 clones I got, this one was a runt and rooted slower than the other ones.
'Pre-98 Bubba Kush' ScrOG
The yield is a lot better in the scrOG than in straight up vert. If I don't do a SOG next time, I'm gonna scrOG all of them.
My Tea Bucket
Other than not noticing that the plushberry was a nute hungry whore until flower, I've the most success with this grow than any other so far, and I have to give credit to Earth Juice nutrients for that. Really easy too use, and aerating it makes it a biological orgy. The root growth I've seen with these nutes is almost as good as when I used coco. I use a water pump and a bucket for my brewing.
Phosphorus deficiency
I'm pretty sure I'm having textbook P deficiency. The EJ nutes are nice, but their just not strong enough for the genetics in these plants. Plushyberry seems like was made with plants that have a high nutrient need. I bet this plant would do great in a hydroponic system.
