Man! Whoever you know that bought a clone for 5000 got totally ripped off. A buddy of mine has the real deal cookies and he got three clones for a little under a 1k. The thing about the latest and greatest strain is that eventually it starts getting around just like the grandaddy did.
It's definitely more accessible now then it was a year ago, at least here in sf city.

Ya i dont think its hit the dispensaries yet. Its is still too rare and probably too expensive. Luckily, since im from here i've come to know many local growers that have it. I think thats the only way to get it at the moment.
Its still pricey and somewhat rare but give it sometime, im sure soon enough it will be everywhere.

In regards to price the reason it goes up is not only cause it is good weed... But someone famous smoke's it (like snoop dog w/ GDP & purples) and rap's about it. Same as this Girl Scout Cookie... a local rapper from SF did such that. And now it's like great... I want some too. LOL So what i need to do is start my own strain& then write a rap song...I'll let u guy's know how it goes!!

Forget $5000. Even $1200 for a clone is like paying $500 for a beanie baby.
Sure, you might be able to find someone with more money than brains willing to pay that, just so they can have the "latest greatest" thing for bragging rights, but even in LA-LA land how many people like that can there be walking around? I'd hope that most of the people capable of dropping $1000 on a clone wouldn't actually want to, and you can't reasonably expect that that kind of price to last very long, or even to be truly representative of the market.
As a basis for comparison, in Northern CA other top-shelf Kush clones can be had for $25 each, and in many cases less. There is simply no possible way that this particular strain is 40x as good as those!
Also, given the crappy state of the economy in CA right now, if there were really people willing to pay over $1000 a clone for this stuff, why would anyone with one of these plants be clinging to it so tightly? For that kind of money there would/should be cloners on every street corner selling these clones!

try san jose i know GreenCare Association on tully road has the bud there for $380 a ounce and im pretty sure they grow their own stuff ive seen their plants and their amazing this bud is amazing too it sells like crazy in GCA so maybe they can hook you up with a cut or let you know where to get one these dudes are really cool so im sure theyll give you info and not bullshit you
