First time grower looking for tips along the way

so i was posting this on the wrong place for a while so starting here now tho


so i got the tent all set up its 6 feet tall 4 feet wide by 4 feet long
got my ballast hooked up saved a ton by geting an industrial one for 30 bucks works great tho its 400 w and currently using a 1 X 400 w MH and got the 400 W HPS as well for later on
running 3 fans atm until i get my 4 inch inline fan.

few pics of the plants dont seem to be doing to bad just re planted today all of them so will see how they do the first night under the lights.
What time u guys think i should run these at there 42 days from seed but were under 4 X 37W CFL till today?
i was thinking 18on 16 off not sure tho.

btw how hot should the ballast get mines a older one but it is quite hot to the touch cant have my hand on it for more than a second?
could this be a big problem?

just thought id add that its a magnetic ballast not electronic did some looking and says it should get pretty hot any suggestions on how i can fix it

so i figured out everything is fine but im not gonna be able to get a good fan till next tues and its at about 88F with 4 fans running atm any tricks i can do to lower the temp i got 2 fans blowing cold air in and 1 fan bowing air out and 1 fan inside but there just 2 small table fans 2 medium ones there just evryday one and dont preduce much power

is the ballast inside or outside of the tent? if its inside, relocate it to outside, should help significantly

If your ballast is really hot I would have it elevated on some kind of rack so it doesnt stay so hot and it can last longer. I do the same thing with my laptop. If u dont have a rack, maybe try 2 books just so the center of the ballast has air flow under it.

it is yea trying to diy it to a remote one but cant find and good tutorials its got a huge maganite on it and doesnt see to wanna seperate the mogol from the actuall ballast ill post a pic of it with some plant pic updates tomorrow mourning or later tonight

the whole ballast it self is suspended in the air from the top of my grow house. i got a very good tent which can hold up to 30 lbs from the top.
the ballast it self is just putting off so much heat to the tent

gonna post a few more in the mourning the girls are doing awsome almost a week under the tent and things have never looked better just got a few curled leaves which i dont like though picture will follow soon
