dolomite users please help

lets say i want to add some to my FFOF how much to a 1.5cf bag do i mix i will be mixing dry and maybe a bag of perlite??

oh yeah dolomite lime is must for me to have it !! i use lime 1 to 2 tablespoon per gallon, i usually like to mix soil with peat moss and perlite...

^yep. 1-2 tablespoons per gal of medium. A cuft is just shy of 8 gallons.(liquid scale) And its best to premix your medium a few weeks in advance to give the lime time to begin reacting with the medium......

ok i went to the store and all they had was soil doctor hydrated lime is this the same thing? says right on bag balances soil to 6.5 sound right oh yeah its the powder not the pellets

Yes but hydrated lime you definitely want to pre-mix your medium at least 2-3weeks in advance.

ok but i just read somewhere that i bought the wrong stuff that the hydrated stuff will burn the plants something about to much mag and cal

Look for a product called Epsoma Garden Lime. I have tried multiple different types and brands and that shit is the best IMO.

If you have 1.5cf of soil (which I think breaks out to 10 gallons or so?) just mix a cup into it and add a small amount of water to get it started.

Thats why its so important to premix your medium in advanced. Hydrated lime can very easily burn roots, especially when applied to a already growing plant.....

epsoma is like 8 bucks 5 lb., outside in homedepot, get 40 lb of same pulverized lime dolomite 4 bucks...peace

Goonies, i dont like hydrated lime it will cause problem and possible cause nutelock often....I rather use espoma s garden lime like other poster said...it most sell at homedepot or lowes...espoma s line is really good products !

I think it 1 tbsp per gallon, not 1 tsp. It sounds like you got the stuff called agricultural lime, which is supposed to be okay too. Dolomite lime in flour form (like flour) is the one most people in our hobby use. I only see it at hydro stores and online.

Yeah that's what I mentioned tbsp and its all they had at the hydro store ill use to now buw I'm just going to order some off line
