Quick Help with multiple deficiency problems in veg before it gets out of hand??

i think i will make a trip to home depot and grab those grates that tenthirty suggested up above. Maybe getting them off the tray may help a little.

Sure, if you can raise temperatures reliable then great. Yeah, the eggcrate/light defuser would probably work pretty well. My only concern would be that the roots will start growing if you leave them on there too long and it could kind of weird/messy.

Was concerned about that a little but they will only be there for a couple weeks then its time for 12/12 i wieep ane eye on it though for sure though.

I do SOG and the grates don't get tangled wit roots at all with 4" cubes. The grates help a lot. With the grates the moisture gradient is much more constant through the cube. (read damp not wet) After the flood the cubes stay heavy for about 3 or 4 hours and are pretty dry. I also use the whit covers that are about 6 bucks for 40 of them. This also helps keep the moisture gradient more constant in the cube as well as helping to keep the RH down in the room and very little algae.

Well i didn't update yesterday cause it was a long day and i was tired!

Got the girls into their new home, with the grates under them, and temps up around 80. Can say that even this morning when i checked on them, they felt better! Blocks are still pretty wet, but there was a noticeable difference between last night when i moved them out of the old try, and this morning! hoping tomorrow will be the day for some nutes and water, but we will see how they dry. My stems are starting to get some green back in them in spots so whoo hoo!!

One strain is still a little droopy, but its always been a fussy strain so ya know....

In the one pic, you can see the grates, spacing, and new black table (i would have preferred a white one, but for the dimensions i was looking for, this was the only option)

I would love to be able to use the covers, but i hand water and that would be a pain i think.

Are you going to handwater all of the way through? You're going to get SOOOO much algae.

I do handwater all the way through. Not gottten much algae (actually...about none) once i move to the 5 gal huckets with the croutons thingts go pretty well. Have never tried flooding. Have considered it though

Good news, good news. Somehow I missed this post earlier. It sounds like tomorrow may very well be the day. I would be leary about how MUCH you water them. I can see the green in the stems now from the pictures! Glad not to see so much purple in the main steam and look at the textures on the leaves and most importantly the color. The plants are so happy to have gotten some fresh water. I'd even go so far as to water them one more time with fresh water.

I personally like flooding over handwatering because it's consistent and I can control the moisture levels on the cubes by increasing/decreasing duration and frequency of watering, but handwatering should work just fine.

I don't believe that you originally had an issue with overwatering, looks like just overfert to me so your previous watering schedule should be just fine. I would think that would be every other day or so with those big ass cubes until they get much larger.

Sorry.. super long day yesterday... but will be taking more pics tonight and posting. Ended up not giving them water yesterday cause i had a lot going on and they were ok. Today is the day for sure. Cubes are lite, plants are green... think they are going to love a little bit of nutes.

However, been doing a little research and was wondering what you thought about a modified Lucas formula? Thinking about my problems and looking back on previous grows i have always had a slightly too much nitrogen in the plants. This could have been from just feeding too often or due to my mix, but there has definitely been too much N. since the Lucas formula cuts out the grow, it may help in solving the issue.

Wheew... what a crazy couple days.

So i ended up going ahead and giving them some water with nutes last night for the first time in almost a week! They definitely needed it as signs we JUST starting to show of some deficiencies (can see in the pics). Today, they are looking great and have a much better texture to the leaf. Everything is still pretty green so very happy the way things are turning out. Just want a little more purple gone in the stems, but it seems to be fading.

Oh yeah.. was shooting for 200, but it ended up around 250 (but i have RO so that is pure 250 of nutes)

wow.. Will throw up some new pics later tonight, but went in last night after they woke up and BOOM... seems like a lot of new growth!!! Totally awesome! one strain still seems dark (too much N) but i think that will go away with the less aggressive feeding schedule.

There's no need to go water-water-feed or water-feed, just feed-feed-feed with hydro and keep the PPM's down. The medium doesn't hold much moisture and at some point in this grow you'll be watering 2-3 times per day. I am glad to hear they are moving along again. They should start growing like gangbusters once they have their available nutrients and the roots are getting plenty of oxygen.

I would just continue @ 200-250ppm until a lower leaf starts to turn a little yellow or the plants start getting a little too pale. It's a toxicity of nitrogen that you are seeing, but the plants have had their fill of everything else too.

How are the main stalks/stems looking? Still really purple?

main stems looking much better actually. there is still purple/red, but you can see its getting better. Will post up pics tonight with close up on some stems. The new growth stems are GREEN though. Still think i am having a PH problem in the cubes, i can see the new growth on a good majority of them is starting to twist. Dont know why i keep seeing these PH problems. This is the second grow in a row that i have to keep fighting the PH down and i do not know why!!

I will do some run-off tests tonight to verify.. but i would be willing to bet that i will see the run-off at 6.5-6.7 again!
