Thanks---its been awhile since i updated---so here's a summary:

Since you are reading this back to my first grow (wow--it will be 1 year ago I made this journal very soon). Here are some changes and plants from 2010/2011.

Anyways I still have the core system. The big difference is I have made to my little grow area into a NFT table. It works well. Im very pleased with this addition.

And yes im still growing the same strain (Belladonna)....I really like the high.

I cover the Rockwool and keep the roots in shaded areas of the NFT. The thing to remember here is that I use these mothers only to procure clones....as beautiful as they get...alas....they usually end up in the garbage. But her children live on!

Hey guys--just 8 plants.

Some are topped, some are super topped.

Still the same strain, same tent, same lights.

Only difference is my NFT table is is used for clones and veg.

In May Im adding 240w Blackstar LEDs Specific for Veg and Clones (NFT) . Pictures soon.

So 1 year experience with T5's. I always have Chronic, I harvest at a time where it's a higher CBN than THC ratio (but that's just personal preference) about 50/50 brown trich ratio to smokey white triches.

So just some pictures to show that as you grow (no matter what your light system is)--you get better as you go along.

This will be my 4th harvest since last year.

Dude you don't need so much of that DAYLIGHT spectrum for Bloom. If you are running a 4 bulb fixture make 3 of them RED bulbs and the other a Daylight. The redder the better. im liking the Red Sun bulbs personally. Give them a shot. You will add 20% to your yield.

Edit: Actually, there's alot of different spectrums in my LED set. Some lights look like they are off/ or very very dim, that's because our eyes simply can't see the light wave. The point of this LED set is that there is no green spectrum and very little other unusable light waves.

The only thing to remember about my original grow was that I could flower and veg under the same T5s; without changing anything other than the timer (from 20/4 to 12/12). But I agree it's always better to have specific spectrum for specific applications.

Yea I have 2 Blackstars as well. I prefer the T5 for fatter buds however. The Blackstar is great as an add on or for vegging though I just wasnt happy AT ALL with the size of the yield in flower from them.

Well I haven't got to use my 500 w for a full "Flowering" cycle yet. I introduced them while the plants were about 5 weeks in. I saw a noticeable difference in a week. It was density. I have them flushing now, but its the next grow im looking forward to.

But I also use a 250W led for Vegging, and the results were outstanding. They just grow so fast and so nice (it's really what made me want the 500w for flowering).
Not really sure about the Budding light yet--but so far im impressed. But we'll see what they are like from 6 inch plant to the point of harvest (or rather, a full flowering cycle).

My only complaint (so far) is their coverage. I wish the light was physically longer so I could get closer to the canopy, and have more coverage. But another 500w for flowering would definitely cure this.

Thanks for following through with journaling the grow. I know it is hard to follow through with it, and there isn't much to hold you accountable to finishing something that you start. I started a grow journal and kept it up...for about a week haha. I am considering adding T5's to my 600hps system in order to get more square footage of light and your grow gives me some things to think about. Your bud looks very good!

Tee Five If you look at a spectral graph of a hps bulb you will see the majority of intensity is within a very broad green/yellow/orange/red band. What does that tell you? Hint; there is a lot more to good yields/quality than B/R. New LED fixtures are accounting for those spectrums via broad spectrum white Cree bulbs. Also new led fixtures have 2 dimmers covering 2 separate spectrum groups, and no fans. LEDs are mounted directly to large heat sinks. One company is now providing solderless kits.

I have been using a variety of HO T5 bulbs to simulate what makes hps so good. But with these new led kits that allow me to select my own diodes, I am thinking to double my grow space and experiment.

Thanks for the info. I usually use T-5's for veg. then switch to HPS. But I wanted to try a total T-5 grow with a 4 foot 8 tube BadBoy fixture and was not absolutly sure about bulb configuation.
I have had them on just 65k lamps in veg. Now I know to just do a 50/50 mix 65k and 30k the entire time.
