Been awhile, I might put this project on the backburner, I was reading up on the current postings though, noticed people are in need of a link to a tank rated, got you there, thank you for the PM KDM, I'm sure those boards will come in handy.

Here's the link to the tank, hope it helps. BackStop A102 Expansion Tank - 4.5 Gallon has a 304 SS connection, only one I could find w/ SS and over 100 psi, good luck.

If you want to keep the bios out of your water, use hydrogen peroxide, and for partcipitation build up from the calcium you can use citrate, and to remove chloramines from your water use vitamin c, that's what labs do.

I bought it at home depot for $150 & tax. I must tell you that like many other things in my setup, this tank is not exactly rated for what most would consider, safe operating limits. It's stamped "tested to 100 psi" and the figures it lists for drawdown stop at 80. I'm not really one to fret over numbers, but you should be forewarned. I don't take it over 100, and I honestly believe that it would take a helluva lot more pressure to burst the tank itself. The bladder is a dif story. But so far so good. :) I haven't had a nozzle clog yet, but have a surplus of em & plan to just swap out the tips as necessary. Soaking them in alcohol doesn't sound like a bad plan. If you have build up, that's one thing. If your filtration isn't up to par and you have debris wedged in the orifice, I doubt it'll help. Salt will eventually errode the small orifice out & give you a deformed, less than outstanding droplet. I have no idea how long that takes. I got my nozzles at HD as well, and a 5 pack was $5. At that price, I picked up enough to last awhile. If I remember right, you had to get yours online. Still, the cheapest nozzles that I know about, and not too shabby on droplet/coverage. I think I'll try to send my bio's back though like trichy & get some proper ones.
yea i ordered the same tank as TB but was thinking about something bigger. what are you using for a filter i need to put one inline. I noticed one of the digs was clogged the other day, after soaking in ro water and swishing in rubbing alcohol it was good as new:)! i def need to put that filter in thought to avoid these problems. thanks for that

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I picked up a whole house filter from... Yup, home depot. I wanted something big, to make for less work. There are plenty of options out there. Just stay away from charcoal.

Thanks ranger! I have JG fittings on my suction side, and they seem to be working like a charm- what issues are you encountering? Safe way for pics- as in what? not having the fbi intervene, or having them not get lost in upload? hehe... I just click the lil picture icon on top of the reply box and it asks me what files I wanna upload. I have issues often trying to upload any other way with I.E. and riu...
i was getting leaks on the intake side with JG fittings, tried changing out fitting but i still got small leaks. anyway yes safe as in not wanting any crooked cops showing up at my door. :D

i'l have to try that then, i never really put a lot of pics up online and didn't know if it could be traced back to my pc. i don't care about ip addys, i'm running pro vpn for that.

a house filter wont filter out tomany nutes?

use a hose gasket to seal the JG fitting on your reservoir and you wont have leaks
that's not where it was leaking, it was leaking from where the tubing inserts into the fitting. what i have on now works fine, 1/2 bulkhead fitting and nylon hose barbs.

1 micron wont filter out nutrients.

Membrane pore sizes can vary from 0.1 nanometres (3.9×10[SUP]−9[/SUP] in) to 5,000 nanometres (0.00020 in) depending on filter type. "Particle filtration" removes particles of 1 micrometre (3.9×10[SUP]−5[/SUP] in) or larger. Microfiltration removes particles of 50 nm or larger. "Ultrafiltration" removes particles of roughly 3 nm or larger. "Nanofiltration" removes particles of 1 nm or larger. Reverse osmosis is in the final category of membrane filtration, "hyperfiltration", and removes particles larger than 0.1 nm.

I hope you connected it to your incoming water line. Most municipalities have more chlorine in them than commercial swimming pools. Our bodies soak that shit up when we bathe. The chlorine rots the gaskets in the o/o valves

You are welcome, glad it helps.

I kept increasing pressure until late yesterday when the tubing kept popping off the mist head fitting. lol

The plants (clones) I am experimenting on have been back and forth between AA and the bubbler, which I needed to revive the dry roots, caused by poor AA coverage, due to not enough pressure. The roots now have lots of tiny fish bones, a precursor to root hairs. I am stoked. I have seeds form their Sat mom that I just chopped 10 days ago. I crossed her with a short Indica. How long should the seeds cure before planting them?

Also- white distilled vinegar might work well to combat mineral buildup without attacking the plastic. The good news with accumulators is to up your size all you have to do is add another one on the line, and you can use both simultaneously. It's not like you have to exchange one for the other.

P.S.- I'm still quite happy with the filter I linked in my build with 1 micron cartridges- only 20 bucks or so and has been taking the 140 psi I've kept it at, even though it was only rated to 125 psi... ;)

Yeah, stay safe... I am sure anything can be traced if they want to bad enough. I bought the $2 jg line cutter, because it makes really clean and straight cuts, perhaps that's why mine don't leak on the suction side whatsoever. Try cutting off 1/2" on each connection, paying special attention to making it clean and straight- bet that will sort it out for you. Unless you are using a different brand of speedfit connectors?

i did the same thing, i run the cheap GE house filter and just put a 1 micron filter 10" x 2" i ordered online in it.

couple pics of my setup, they aren't great pics but there actually some tiny hairs forming on the roots.
the box is 80 gallon, with 4 bio nozzles, each with it's own solenoid. interesting thing to note is the one with roots showing had no rooting hormone applied to it. the full size tomato plants were planted from seed mid September and have 10-20 tomatoes on each. the tree in between the potted tomatoes is a Meyer lemon, flowers are night blooming jasmine and Jasminum beesianum.

Nice setup Ranger- funny to see a striking resemblence to my chamber... ;) Hope the idea will serve you well and that you're happy with it. I used silicone caulk around all the inner seams to wind/ water proof it. I also have my misters a few inches lower because I was worried about condensation/dripping from the lid- but have you had any such issues?

You have to push hard to get the tubing all the way in. Plus, as TB said angle cuts can leak. Cut them as close to a right angle (90^) as possible

Yeah, and they say the worst exposure threat isn't from ingestion, or even our skin, but the hot water steaming it up and inhaling through our lungs in the shower! I have a whole house water conditioner that takes out the chlorine, etc. with carbon, then it softens it too via ion exchange rock salt. Everyone always says they love taking showers at my house and their skin and hair is so much softer and we never need lotion afterwards...

U could prolly use zip-ties as mini hose clamps...

thx bro, i am here to learn and didn't really feel the need to re-invent the wheel when it comes to chambers and finding something with the right volume, isn't easy. my grow room is only 4 1/2' wide x 12' long x 6 1/2' high so i don't have a lot of options. maybe one day, when things are legal, i will turn my whole damn basement into a grow room. the conditions are so good in the basement it's like it was made for a grow room. i have drainage into the ground under my slab, it stays 58-72 degrees year around (no heat signature), no noise in the living area, wood stove to burn whats left off, and i vent the grow room air (through mountain fresh carbon filter) into my heating and cooling duct so it draws Co2 rich air from the living area and gives us o2 rich air. i get the extra heat in the winter and should get free cold air for air conditioning (from basement) in the summer.:D

just some info in case anyone's thinking of putting a grow room in the basement. ^^ it makes good sense when you want to grow stealth. i figure even if it's legal in your state/country, someones always going to wanna steal your shit, know what i mean.

yes i am getting some condensation on the lid so i might just lower them, thx for the tip. it wont take much just drilling 4 new holes and plugging the old ones. i silicone'd the bottom seam on this box so i could use a drain hose since, i'm indoors and all. i used 4x4 plastic conduit boxes to support my solenoids, i really didn't know what else to do since they are such an odd shape.

as far as the pics online my son tells me most of the issue is people using cell phone pictures with gps data stored on the pic? anyway i think we're ok for this and if they want to arrest me for growing tomatoes and lemons, i would relish the chance to embarrass them in the community. lulz

sorry i'll quit rambling.

hows your grow going?

i will remember that for next time, i do have a JG tube cutter but must have cut it off 90 some how. i think it was one of them gremlins we all get from time to time, you guys all know what i mean.

From Wikipedia

"Exchangeable image file format (Exif) is a standard that specifies the formats for images, sound, and ancillary tags used by digital cameras (including smartphones), scanners and other systems handling image and sound files recorded by digital cameras. The specification uses the following existing file formats with the addition of specific metadata tags: JPEG DCT for compressed image files, TIFF Rev. 6.0 (RGB or YCbCr) for uncompressed image files, and RIFF WAV for audio files (Linear PCM or ITU-T G.711 μ-Law PCM for uncompressed audio data, and IMA-ADPCM for compressed audio data).[1] It is not supported in JPEG 2000, PNG, or GIF."

So according to this, to lose GPS EXIF metadata, one just has to avoid using JPG until the final step, therefore, if this is valid you can take shots as TIFF or PNG then if you want them smaller then you could go to any format including JPG

I would however caution that there are other technologies like the atom threads that Apple uses in MP4 and M4A files, not that atom metadata is an Apple feature, it's really an MPEG4 standard, which Apple choses to actively use for digital security, as an example every purchase off iTunes has visible atoms w/ your e-mail address at purchase, as well as other hidden encrypted atoms with unknown values contained within.

Therefore it seems the best way to mitigate this risk is to simply avoid all formats involving any metadata support, even though this will never be a gaurantee because they can simply attach via software another format of metadata that could be simply detached from the actual rendered file and hidden successfully somewhere within the machine invisible to the user. Though this is a fact for a lot of things ultimately.

Good luck be safe.
