So had surgery the other week I haven't felt well enough to even water until today and hadn't thought of it beforehand so she went almost two full weeks without water. She really looks rough now, I also found out that letting the plant grow into the light actually does burn the plant pretty bad. Didn't really see any bleaching but a few of the leaves are really crisped from rowing up to the edges and touching the light. Because of the design of the light this means they were effectively sitting against the heat sink and the result was pretty bad. I'll get pics up early next week, didn't feel up to after trying to fix things today. I ran a good bit of water through to thoroughly soak the soil and get rid of any salt buildups. I'll feed again next watering long as she's starting to look better by then. Otherwise I may just scrap her for hash and start over.

I'm just using a mix of peatmoss and perlite. The veg nutrient I use is vigoro grow, for flower nutrients I add miracle grow bloom booster and cut back on the vigoro but not entirely bc the mg lacks enough of the micro nutes. I find that with the LED I only need to water every 3-4 days and I feed every third watering unless it looks like there's a deficiency and I'll add another feeding in after one watering. I don't use any additives/supplements, haven't gotten a good cal/mag yet either but I need to soon. I started w/ 1/3 strength nutes about week two of veg and moved up by 1/3 each feeding till at full strength then for flower switched from all veg to 2/3 veg and 1/3 flower, now at 1/3 veg and 2/3 flower, then I'll go to all flower for the last two weeks ending with 2 flushes before harvest.
I used this feeding schedule for one of the ones in my last grow and it ended up yielding nearly 2g more than the other one which got just veg nutes in veg and flower nutes in flower. Considering that between the two little clones I only got 11g total, that 2g advantage to the one was a pretty big margin for how small they were. I'm debating whether to try doing 6 small clones in 6" pots each topped at third node and then vegged to 8" tall to flower. The clones last time were flowered at about 8" w/o topping and ended at just under 12" tall so I think I could get a pretty decent yield out of them doing that.
As far as how the HSS compares to other LEDs, I'd say that it is probably best reserved for either a very small full cycle or just a mother/clone veg light. The GLH light I have is definitely much better for growing anything taller than 18" and has a much better footprint. Any advice or criticism you can offer are greatly appreciated.
