Petty offense, does it mean anything?

So my friend was driving and we had weed, anyways he was pulled over for some BS like not having lights on or something, anyways needless to say the cop smelt marijuana, furthermore they took my pipe and meds is that legal? I am medical can they just take my pipe/weed, also what does a petty fine do on your record, is this a big problem?

I am not in a med state but, I really don't think he can do that. For a laugh go to the cop shop, show them the card and ask for your pot back! Unless the cop smoked your stash! I saw a youtube video of a guy in HI who got his grow busted. He went and got his shit back! Coolest thing I ever saw. He video'd the whole thing from bust to finish.

As far as the petty offense goes, since you are a mmj patient you can probably get that exponged. But either way I would'nt sweat it. Not a felony charge.
