After all the shit that i have been through here in America, I am still proud to be an american because I can openly bitch about it on here and not get my family sent to a laotian death pit. Lets try to keep it like that.

Knowing that we (USA) still make the best Stereo/Hifi equipment in the world makes me very happy, the stuff that comes out of Japan is junk for the most part.

Well, let me think,............ when......no, .............when............,no, .OK, foodstamps for the hungry,..................., Yellowstone park, all national parks for that matter........................whenever we actually do something great like cure Polio, ..... The fact tht we have running water at our disposal and a system to take the waste away, Phew............what little freedom we have left..............The fact that I can own and carry a side arm, at least in my state......I'm sure there is more, but there could be a lot more also, don't get me started on the shortfalls. I used to get chills whenever I heard the star spangled banner, now, I just think about the line."the bombs bursting in air" and think of all the people we've butchered with cluster bombs.

sometimes your obstinance really pisses me off.

is it really so difficult to remember that you live in a country where you're actually allowed to bitch and moan about every little thing? you seem to be thankful for the fact that you can see a bit of relatively unspoiled nature from time to time, that you are allowed to own a gun and that you don't have to carry your own water and dispose of your own shit.

this is actually pretty minor shit compared to the fact that this country has always been there in time of need for even its enemies. this country is among the first to send aid to victims of famine and disaster, even though we know that we will be vilified as soon as our back is turned. how about the fact that, even with all its problems, people from all around the world flock to our shores for a chance at what you seem to take for granted. just the chance at u.s. citizenship is enough to make people risk they're lives and even those that know they'll have to live in the shadows once they're here are willing to give up all they own to cross into u.s. territory. you also seem to be ignoring the riches that allow this country to be so generous. have you forgotten the freedoms inherent in our society that allow all the people to share in our resources and prosperity instead of hoarding it for the few?

instead you seem intent on claiming that it is never enough. the political climate isn't to your liking, there is still suffering in the world, the wealth isn't spread evenly enough; seemingly oblivious to the abundance that surrounds us all. i've never really been one for jumping on the patriotic bandwagon with any great nationalistic zeal, but even i am at least a little bit grateful to be here instead of, oh let's say, iran or mongolia. instead of praise for this country, you would like to heap on it the blame for all of humanity's worst nature. if the u.s. were the only country going around blowing people up i'd surely join you in berating such a warlike attitude, but war is the chosen way of life for this species. if wars didn't pop up more frequently than dandelions in spring, i'd consider the u.s. to be the major threat to world peace that you seem to think it to be. the simple fact seems to be that humans are just a bunch of simple animals that want to go around beating each other over the head and, though the u.s. shows considerable restraint, we, as a people, ain't a whole hell of a lot better than anyone else.

How is free speech an illusion? A stand against whom?
Are you kidding? Next, people will advocate that we have due process also. Ask those who are sitting without legal council in Guantanamo or poor people without access to good legal council about this. That said, all freedoms are relative and while I do feel we have it better than most, the Patriot Act was a knife in the backs of Jefferson and Adams. Our rights as put forth under the Constitution are receding my friend, not increasing. I do not think any reasonable person could argue otherwise. Peace

America can be a wonderful place. We set up an excellent framework in our constitution. We find ourselves where we are today because of 2 reasons.
1 - 9/11. The neo-conservatives happen to be in power when this occurs, and the patriot act is passed. I am not brining up any 9.11 conspiracies, but the fact remains that this act was passed only because of Americas fear from 9.11. The original patriot act was far less invasive into our rights, and was agreed upon by the senate, THEN drastically changed at 4am the day of the vote. The new version was crafted by John Ashcroft, and Alberto Gonzoles. (now both confirmed douchebags)

2- Corporate take over of all aspects of our needs.
Think about it. your food is grown in a poor country and the farmers are paid squat, they use tons of pesticides and destroy natural environment, causing birth defects and cancer among poor farmers. This food is shipped across the globe, burning tons of carbon, and then when it comes to the US, is sold in a handful of national chains. These companies all pay poorly, Walmart, for example, is referring their full time employees to welfare because they still cannot make the bills. End result, a few ppl on top come out great, and the bulk of the workers are dying off from lack of health care. The government assists with this process by removing trade barriers piece by piece, and are bought off through campaign contributions. There is a term for when our democracy is eroded by this process, its called COOPERATE FASCISM .

So, What do we do? buy local, support your local farmer, and keep your money in the community. Also, protest like hell when the bush admin tries to peek more and more into our lives. O by the way, bush says he can open your postal mail, how do you feel about that? Is that the America you dream of?

You dont have any rights to shit here, try and go out in the street and speak your mind sometime and youll get locked up for disturbing the peace.
buy a handgun and you can only own it in certain states and under certain rules that get added to everyday.
Americans are stupid motherfuckers when it comes to knowing whats going on in thier own country. You ask other people in other countries what the capital of texas is and they`ll tell ya.
Countries outside the U.S. are effected by everything American government does thats why they know more about politics than the average American. Americans sit around and let the government take care of buisness for them, well thats over now because America has gone down the tubes your not fuckin free and dont give me some shit about how great America is compared to some third world country that says to me your an uneducated flag waveing fuck.

What you are seeing is a great country going to shit because of crooked government and people not takeing time out to say fuck you governer or mayor or president or legislastor..we are not going to put up with that.
BUT SEEING AS HOW THE GOVERNMENT LET ALL THE MEXICANS COME ACROSS THE BORDER WHO CAN VOTE BUT DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT POLITICS..WELL THAT WAS A SMART WAY THE GOVERNMENT ENABLED THEMSELVES MORE CONTROLL TO FUCK OFF.
IF YA GOT TOO MANY SMART PEOPLE LET SOME UNEDUCATED ONES IN AND BOOM WE CAN RESUME OUR CROOKED POLITICS
If you send evryone 300 bucks at tax time to stimulate the economy your out of your mind george ya fuckin jerk off
And George Washington was not our first president to all you ignorant flag waveing fucks get educated before you start saying how great this country is because evreyone outsde the U.S. either hates youre guts or thinks your stupid pompass asses and yea that goes for me too, believe me I heard all thier input on how stupid Americans are.
Try living in a different country and tell everyone your an American see what happens, then ask them thier views on American policies and youll find out how much you didnt know.
And for all you assfucking agents watching this site...Im an American I love America and I hate you fuckers who are violating our constitutional amendments.
The right to bear arms constitutionally was enabled by the government for the people by the people to keep thier government in line..well I see under subsection blaa oF every amendment that we have NO FUCKING RIGHTS.

We have the rights we claim to have.

I'm most proud to be an American because, as pointed out in or Founding Documents, the rights of Americans have been bestowed upon us by our Creator. This is much different than in most countries. In the now failed Soviet Union for example, the Soviet constitution enumerated FAR more rights than the U.S. Constitution does. The difference is, in the Soviet Union, the government bestowed the rights as written in their constitution. When government creates the freedoms that the citizens have, and don't have, that's a recipe for totalitarianism.

What do I like least about America? The people have grown into a dependent class of citizens. Instead of celebrating success, they want someone else's success to pay their way. They don't have a clue that in order to receive from the public treasury, the government must pass laws ... and those laws always have strings attached. Unfortunately, those strings are bringing down the yoke of government induced totalitarianism around our necks.

The answer is through education both private and home schooling. The answer is through the young people now coming up. The answer is a renewal of the philosophies of our Founding Fathers - brought current. The answer is to discontinue, and shun, the attempt by the elites to divide us based upon race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and class. We are in the battle to preserve our liberties together, for the long haul, wether we like it or not.

"The Key Is To Find A Base Of Morality And That Will Eaqual Success..."

That's it in a nut shell. The country was founded upon morality. What we now have as a government, is a huge machine that is only interested in power. What we have now is a citizenry who, when faced with a choice between liberty or another government handout, chooses the handout every time. What we have now is The Patriot Act, The War on Drugs, The War on Terror ... all of which has turned into a War on The People.

As long as we, as a people, are unwilling to stand up for moral reason, we will continue to slide down the slippery slope into the abyss of totalitarianism.
