Using alcohol for ice water bubble hash...

Besides "Keep the runoff" because, of course.

I think the method would basically give you honey oil, I am pretty sure you would not have any bubble hash since it will dissolve the triches, just like when you make tinctures with alcohol, I could be wrong..I would definately keep the liquid because I have a feeling that would be the gold . let me know how it works....

Alcohol will ruin the trichomes.
Imo either stick to pure clean iced water for bubble hash, or pure alcohol for an extract. If you follow Oakley's "qwiso using freezer-cold iso" method*, you'll get an extract of good quality. But letting it steep or stew in an alcohol/water mix will yield nowt but grief. cn

THC dissolves fairly well in alcohol, it's flammable, and there is a generous tax on drinkable ethanol. THC is far less soluble in water, is not flammable, and water is cheap to free. Water is the superior medium for separating the trichomes. Ice-water extraction works because the trichomes are more dense then the cold water where most of the plant matter is less dense then the water. The trichomes sink to the bottom and the plant matter rises. I would think that alcohol would allow this kind of separation however the point is moot because the desired cannabinoids will dissolve in the alcohol. You would have trichomes that could be pressed but they would be devoid of effect. You also have to remember that collecting the cannabinoids dissolved in the alcohol will entail either distilling or evaporating gallons of flammable solvent. That's not easy to do safely and the neighbors are going to notice the smell.

If you really want to I can't stop you but this is a prime example of a bad idea. If you really want weedy-booze why not just soak some of the lower quality keif you get from the bags in alcohol? Seems a lot easier to me.

Trim/popcorn bud + 150 proof rum = FUN (as in dwarf fortress FUN)
