Believe or not but there comes another DIY post.
This time I am making carbon filter because those from cooking hood were shitty. They blocked the air flow so the temps raised and my girl felt not so good!
Things to buy:
carbon
paper basket
100mm tube
100mm elbow
100mm wall attachment
First I cut off the ring from the top of the basket
Next i measured approximately how far will the basket go on the tube and did cuttings to make leaves that I can bend to the center of basket.
Then there were holes needed in the tube where the air comes in. I used 10mm wood drill. I put it in pantyhose afterwards.
I bought carbon from pet store. they use it for fish tank filters. I needed more than two kg to fill the space between tube and basket. Actually carbon is quite expensive. It costs about 8 EUR per kg.
Next step was to close the basket. I used wire but there can be used duct tape or anything else.
Finally I put the whole thing in pantyhose that carbon doesn't come out from the basket and attached it to my Audi blower!
DIY carbon filter for 25 EUR total. Not bad! Will tell tomorrow if there is a smell in the apartment when I will come in from outside. This is the time when I feel it mostly.
P.S. I filled all the connections with silicone to prevent the smell leak.
That's all folks!
