Just don't hack off any leaves;
Read the Pruning link in mysignature.
The main stem is the first branch, made up of side branches/.
The side branches are secondary.
The branches coming off of your secondary branches, remove all bu t the tips of the secondaries.
You'll understand more in the thread, it will eliminate popcorn bullshit in your grow, you'll get more A gradebuds.

I dont understand. I have branches growing off branches growing off branches etc......from my main stem I have multi side stems(secondaries) and on those stems, I have fan leaves that shoot out for a mile..here is a pic can you explain? that thick branch is the secondary....would I cut just the huge shoot off for the fan leaves?...I have fem flowers all over areas that are suggested I "cut/prune" i dont even want to mess with this plant because of all the shoots n flowers....do i cut where the black circles are??

Nono, see that branch you selected in the picture?
Leave that.
See the inch long branchescoming outof it?
Leave those.
But on those tiny branches, at each point a leafcomes out, there will be a "baby branch" like a little pair of leaves in a spike.
Remove that shit with a razor blade as soon as you can seeit.
|

Those littleone inch stems will become "tops" on sticks.
Andif you leave all of the leaves(solar panels) it won't stress the plant much.

Yeah I've notice the the growths next to fan leaves need the fan leaves in order for the growths to grow. Seems like what's they get full length you can cut the fan leaves off, and they will still swell properly, but if you cut them before they reach their full length, they just quit growing.

Hope that made sense. √

I seriously, seriouslyhope you don'tthink isuggest cutting off leaves.
I don't know why on earth everybodythat reads that thinks I want leaves gone.
I'm saying toeliminate a certain generation of branches, as early as possible before they develop, while leaving behindthe fan leaf at the same node.

This results in thatbranch essentially "neveroccuring",never draining ersources, or providing them.Allowing youto manipulate theplants structure withas minimal detrimental affect as possible.

Mthe typos are my computer not wanted to backspace/space bar every time i hit themin thesetextboxes. It's the new rRIU updatethat'smessing wit hme.

I definitely understood your post, was just adding on to it √

I like to defoliate, since I'm using a 400w and have 8 Giant as plants underneath it....gotta help share the light some how. I was just adding that if you do defoliate to remember that your effecting that specific growth, and not just the whole plant.....atleast that is My oppinion √

gotcha, is that sorta like fimming? i dont plan on cutting any leaves..last time i did that the plant turned yellow n black'd out on some leaves...oh, i topped it once already and from that top 2 "colas" grew out..that branch in the last pic I posted is cola #1 the main stem height is only 5-6 inches tall IF that.....below I attached this pic of a sprout off the cola that tied down..is this like LST?? will this work if I did that to the other branches..i mean they seem flexible..doing soo brings the plant down like 3 inches or is this just dumb...

I wait till she is done stretching completely before removing anything...

Here is what mine look like at Week 6. I took all her large fan leaves off and also stripped her bottom branches in Week 3.

Well each strain is different but on average I would say during weeks 2-5 of Flowering is where most the stretching occurs. You will know when your plant is done because she wont grow no more.

I do believe she has stopped growing. It looks like a indica/sativa mix...being indica dominate...im not sure just has more fat leaves than skinny.....uhm, what all should i be doing different now at this stage? I cut back on floragro... how frequent should the RES be changed? i was changing it once a week(GALLONS are .69) so its easy...should i keep the same routine? Thanks you all!

I've been keeping the same routine, flushing once a week. So your using floranova bloom? If so how strong of a dose and what type of water are you using?

im using distilled water, seems to work best....as far as nutes go, I DO want to try that FloraNova series....since its only 2 bottles..currently im using the FLoraGro/micro/bloom the 3 part nutes, ive been going by the label since day 1...right now im doing 3tsp(bloom)2tsp(micro)1tsp(gro)...and thats per gallon..seems to do well...my room is startin to smell of jane hahaa!

Have you looked into the lucas formula for gh nutes? Worth looking into, I'm just starting with Gh FloraNova Bloom and I'm using it in veg too! Seems to be plenty so far, they do make the grow but I've heard from a few reputable members that its not needed. Anyway I'll be watching to see how they turn out :)

Mike your girls is nowhere near finished growing from the looks of the picture in post#327...I dont even think your plant has even started to stretch yet, trust me, she is going to explode once she kicks into full flowering force!!!

I do res changes once a week unless there is a problem with the plant. I dont know nothing about the nutes your using other than a lot of growers on here use them. I hear great stories from them, just never used them. Someone will give you some advice on it if you need it.

Peace
