  • I bought some nutrients.
Brand is Vigoro Citrus & Avocado Plant food 12-5-8
Says on the package Promotes bigger yield and better fruit.
Would it work? What would I mix it with and how much?

The NPK looks ok for veg. As far as will it work, I never advise on something I have not used. I don't want to have a dead plant on my conscience. But more info on your grow would be nice. What medium are you growing in? How old are they? How long do you plan to veg? And what is your light source. And PICS are always nice as well. Good Luck!

Ahhh ok, i spoke with you last night. I just saw your cab pics. Firstly, The 2 smaller bulbs are going to do nothing to help your plant where they are. If you cannot figure a way to move them closer and even if you can, get some mylar to cover the walls of your cab for reflection. You can get a mylar safety blanket in any camping/sporting goods store very cheaply. If you must you can use tin foil, but put the dull side facing the plants and make sure it covers the wall smoothly with no lumps or bubbles.

Secondly, I thought you had decided to go with MG? If you did you have no need for nutes at all until at least 3 weeks into flower. The perlite is an aeration compound. It helps retain moisture close to the roots, keeps air in the soil, and aids in drainage as well. If you use the MG perlite in combo with the potting soil, you are very much set for nutes until the time I mentioned above.

I guess you decided against taking the trip to the hydro store huh?

prolly ok for veg, but you want something with a higher 2nd. number for flower... Check out Miracle Grow or the Walmart knock off brand.... There should be directions on all of them for mixing and dont overdo it.

Make sure to only use 1/4 to 1/2 dose first couple feedings and watch closely for signs of overfertilizing. Often these chemical ferts are used on poor soil and plants not as efficient as using nutrients(as cannabis) so they tolerate more ferts. Plants under fertilized recover almost overnite when given proper amount, but when overfertilized it can take up to week for them to recover.

I grow with mg and bkbudz is right on in telling you you won't need nutes for awhile +1 also with mg never underestimate the water you put in the nutes are released through the water so too much water equals nute burn. Not trying to tell ya what to do just hate to see a plant die.
