Means your pushing them... and probably soon to burn.. if they fluxuate between praying and relaxed don't worry, but if they are praying all the time they are praying for less nutes soon.

In artificial light, they are just moving towards a steady light.

With the sun they are following the sun.

Maybe you are right about plants in the sun, that stay bent. But I don't know.

Not burn from light.. from your nutes.
That isn't a reply to anything I said.... ...
?

I was just talking about the fact that when it's bending, it's usually leaning towards the light.

Plants under Artificial light shouldn't alternate between praying and not...They should stay still, with the light....

Plants grow to the light, since the sun moves, the plant moves to follow it, since a mounted HPS does not move, the plant does not. If you have a plant and leave it at a sharp angle from the light it will lean towards it as it grows.

If you've ever gone in your room just before the lights turn on and waited, then you've probably noticed that as soon as the lights come on your plants will look droopy. After a few minutes of intense light the leaves will perk right up towards the light. It may not be to the extent that you see outdoors to the sun, but it does happen.

The same thing happens during flower.
Yep, I see it all the time.
This really is an easy question with a simple answer, but some of the answers people are coming up with are just down right silly. I wonder if they really believe what they're saying or if it's more about getting their post count up.

LOL, you all had to dig this one up. I have more pics I haven't had time yet to upload, the herijuana leaves look like cabbage. The skunk is of the stretch type strain, so that's a challenge. And I've decided to crack some northern lights. Yes, the plants will lean towards a CFL, but the leaves do not respond in the same fashion.

Happy New Year all!

OP your plants are optimizing photosynthesis by following the source of light, think of the leaf's as solar panels
out door plants move around all day, east to west following the sun, and rest at night
same thing indoors but since most growers lights are fixed in one position you don't notice as much
If move your lights in your grow room to one side you will see the same shit going on :leaf:

im with mistik on this is just they way it is it happens on every grow i have done and frankley the more the up at a 45 degree angle aka praying i personally believe its a sign of good health. lights off plants relaxed, lights on healthy 45 degrees good growing conditions if ur plants always lay down theres a problem.

Nope, there is something in sunlight that artificial light cannot replicate.
No, it's following the sun as it moves about the sky. The lights in Indoor grows are positioned in ideal spots for the plant to photosynthesize, so it doesn't have to move. The sun rises in the east, and sets in the west. The plant has to follow it to make the most of the moving light source. Many of plants do this.
