Oops, light malfunction

Hi all

I've just realised today, a week after planting my germinated seed, that the light in my growbox has been on for 24hrs a day rather than 18/6. I'd forgotton to switch the timer from "on" to "timed".

She's looking ok tho, i'm gonna leave the light on now untill 10am tomorrow morning (it's 14.35 now) when it is scheduled to switch off. Would this have done any lasting damage?

As laced23z said, a lot of people use 24 hours of light for vegetative stage. Jorge Cervantes prefers 18 hours ON /6 hours OFF but he accepts that other growers use light non-stop for vegetative stage. So it's whatever you want from 16 to 24 hours a day. Your choice.

Won't hurt a thing. I use 24/7 light cycle with no problem.

Try 20 hours on and 4 off mate. They've just conducted lots of tests in Holland and plants in the 20/4 regime had more vigorous growth than any other light cycle.

Thanks, I'll give the 20/4 a go. Presumably I still go to 12/12 when flowering tho?

Yes mate, switch to 12/12 as normal when you're ready.

I just finished my vegetation on the 20/4 cycle and had fantastic results. Good luck with everything.
