Laundry

How does the community feel about having to do laundry? We all need clean clothes... Do you own your own laundry machine? Do you have to drive to a laundromat? What are some of your gripes when it comes to laundry? Maybe you enjoy it... Post your experiences!!

I don't own crayons, I don't have crayons in my place, I don't go anywhere near crayons.
At the laundromat I would check the washers thoroughly, I would check the dryers thoroughly.

But I would always end up drying my clothes and somehow the occasional crayon would end up melting all over everything...

I swear someone was following me around and doing this just to spite me.

The wife and I have a washing machine but no dryer. We'll just hang them outside in the summer, or on our drying rack in the utility closet in the winter. I wait to do laundry until I run out of boxers, then I'm like damn, now I have to do it.

My dryer just took a shit so I gotta go to my moms to dry my clothes til I can afford a new one(she lives close by but still a pain in the ass). I hate doing laundry.
edit: with two kids in the house there is no waiting. It never ends around here.

I don't have a unit in my apartment so I have to go to the community one...which I hear there is one unit located in each apartment building...hoping there's some truth to that as I go hunt it down...

Such a pain in the ass but hey, I try to look at the bright side, it keeps me busy for a little while and at least I have somewhere to wash my clothes at..

I live in a duplex and the laundry machine and dryer are both located in the basement. I probably do laundry ever 10-14 days. LOL someone mentioned when they run out of boxers it's time to do laundry, I am the exact same way!

I do laundry about every 2 weeks. Usually when I run out of shirts, boxers, socks, or pants. I use fresh undies and socks every day, but I own more of them than shirts or pants. They all tend to run out about the same time. I own a washer and dryer. Laundry is typically:

Empty few clean items out of laundry hamper (because I don't put cloths away, just live out of my hamper)
dirty cloths -> hamper -> washer

Everything goes in 1 load along with as many towels around the house fit in to top it off. Cold wash cold rinse. Then dry it.

If I can't wash it in cold water with everything else I own then I don't need to be wearing it.

Through college and the unmarried part of grad school I did my laundry by hand in the bathtub. Jeans and towels were the worst ... they took FOREVER to rinse clean. I have a washer now but no dryer, just like Neo. I have some clothesline strung in the garage. Looks kind a country but does the job. cn

i have a washer and the lady in the apartment under me has a dryer, so we have an arrangement. i haul her stuff upstairs to wash, she folds my stuff after it's dried.

usually once a month or so i'll take my ass to the laundromat to wash stuff like blankets that don't fit in my washer.

the most annoying part of laundry is the folding. i'm guilty of walking around with wrinkled clothes because i got sick of folding and just started to ball 'em up.

wrinkles can be fixed by spraying with water or febreze and popping it in the dryer for a few minutes.

i iron NOTHING.

We have a laundry room in our house. The misses does all of our laundry every Sunday. When she got the new front loaders....maybe 5 years ago...I was no longer allowed to touch the machines. I will help hang up my own stuff and sometimes help with towel folding but never her stuff. She wears business suits to work and those are just to complicated to get onto hangers the proper way.

I remember very well those days after moving out on my own but before getting married (22 yrs ago) of going to the laundry mat, the on site laundry and hauling it out to my moms house when too broke to feed quarters into machines.

+1 to this, except I have work clothes that need to be washed weekly(it's tough being a superhero), but as for my mild mannered disguise "regular guy" clothes, almost this same esxact routine, except I wash hot and let shit fade/shrink...

Also, I'm guilty of the sin of spending 6-10 bucks a week on socks. For some reason, I like to wear socks once and throw them away(goodwill), and since I don't smoke cigs anymore(quit December 3rd, 2008!!), I figure I can waste a couple bucks on new fluffy socks every time! Nothing quite like fresh pure un-worn socks.
