Think I am close to chopping?

I usually wait on the hairs to recede before i chop. Not all mind you, just a good portion. Waiting on the hairs to to sink and the buds to swell a little usually serves me well.

Well here is the deal...I have to go out of town for 4 days this Thursday. So I need to decide to chop Wednesday night or wait till I get back. Right now I am thinking before I leave which will give them 2 more full days to do there thing. Any suggestions?

To me, the hairs and buds say i need more time. If they were mine I would go another week, but if you have a proper scope and can see well developed cloudy trichs to your liking then go ahead and chop.

Hairs can be finicky and vary by what nutes and additives you use so they can decieve quite easily. Trichs are a good place to start.

i'd give them 1 huge flushing the day before the trip, then allow them to naturally dry while out of town.

Ok just got back from my trip. Plants did fine, I just watered them a lot before I left. This plant looks the closest, it would be awesome if I could chop it tonight but hopefully someone can chime in and tell me if she looks ready. Most of the hairs are brown, the trichs look all cloudy white through my 30x loupe

Anyone? I really can't tell and am thinking to harvest soon
I am in the same boat as you. My plant is looking about the same as yours. I am taking the advice of the previous posters and waiting and I suggest you do the same. It would be a shame to do all this work to cut it all down to soon. Considering this is my first grow, I can expect that I am anxious and rushing harvest. I will hold out until I can't stand it anymore ;)

your plant looks great by the way!!!! update us on a smoke report for sure!

Even if you are unable to take pictures of the trichomes, just make sure you can see through a loupe or scope that some trichs have begun to turn amber. A good rule of thumb is 10% amber is the time to harvest.

Ok thanks. I guess I just need to wait. I keep asking if they are ready when I know in my gut that they aren't yet because I am having a hard time waiting! Thanks for all the advice guys

you should take off test nugs through the grow, and harvest it when YOU want
i dont think i have ever chopped them before 8-9 weeks even when they are said to be 7 week strains , i like to leave them as long as possible i like a fuller thicker smoke
how hard/dense are the colas are they swollen solid, calyx completly hard and swollen ?

peace :)

the calyxs are the things by the nodes that have 2 hairs coming out right? They aren't hard, but I magnified the hairs and they are brownish, not white at all. The buds seem to be pretty dense, they didnt give in too much when I squeezed them. Not really sure.
