Starting my second grow off with a new cab.

man glad i caught the new thread! its been awhile man well im subbed! looks great lol and is that fan a exhaust? i would think so because the heat rises to the top. this is going to be great! what strains you using?

I also wanted to change soil at one point from some shitty Scotts stuff to FFOF, and I was running 24/7 at the time. If you have a garden hose with spray nozzle you can use that on low pressure to wash out the old soil. When I changed soil I just shook the plant genitally to remove as much of the old soil while still making sure to not damage too many roots, then I changed my light schedule to 18/6 to reduce stress (as shrx suggests). Thanks dude! Not sure what strains I'm going with but I think it will be two different Indica's, The wellness center I get my clones from have different strains all the time.

So I decided to go with two of the same indica dom strains, Sugar Kush. I didn't want to have to deal with two plants growing at different heights so that why I went with the same strains. I should have updates on the flowering side soon, also I'll have the new grow thread going within the week.

No wonder why you like DIY stuff. I like your cab! Like your last grow, it's very clean and well built!
Hoping the best for my 50w RED LED and if it works out the way it should,(supplemental only along with CFL's) I think you could benefit considering your grow style. I will be sure to check in with this new journal as I know you have another winner here! GOOD JOB! Can I say that as a newb grower.. fuck i dunno.

A little update with more to come this weekend. I've completed most of the duct fan I planned to make. So far its come out very well, just need to run the wiring through the side wall of the duct, then finish off the other end of the braided wire covering. This thing moves some air! The duct is 24" but will be cut down to 8"-10".

So it's been some time since I had a chance to work on my grow cab but I finally got some work done on the flowering side! I have finished the exhaust fan, its been cut down to about 10" and I have installed it. Also I cut the holes for the wiring and lined the inside with an emergency blanket. Only real thing left to do is cut the hole for the passive intake and buy a vent cover for it. My two sugar kush girls are getting big and should have been put into flowering already, but any free time I get has been occupied by higher priorities. The two lights in the flower side are just for reference, and the last picture is so you can get an idea of the size of the flowering side.

For lighting I am looking at three options, 400w HID (dimmable ReVolt ballast), 3 40w induction lamps and 4 42w CFL's, or 4 42w and 6 40w CFL's (10 total). Let me know what light system you guys think would best suit my cab, thanks!

If you like the idea of HID, maybe a 250w would be reasonable depending on how your set up is. With the cabinets on the left, cut off all your faces and build a door behind them. It is a flowering/veg box lol, look at the fourth picture in my last post. I'm thinking of going with a dimmable 400w HID, that way I can run it at 200w,300w, or 400w depending on the season and what the cab can take, thanks for stopping by! I'll check out your cab.
