But ignoring this,
For two bulb T5 combo, eventually destined fora mother/veg cab,

Should I use
1x 6500k
1x Purple?

Or
1x 6500k
1x Super Actinic?

For Veg I'd go w the actininc to give a boost of blue, the 6500k will already have a decent balance of blue/green/red... then flowering use the Purple which is essentially a blue actinic bulb w red added for a red boost... but 2bulbs for flowering, eh, prob not. for veg/momma cab 2 bulbs should work ok

afte i save up some money to get my 2 foot 6 bulb for my moms im going to use
2 fiji purple
2 454 nm
2 regular bloom bulbs (add a lil red to all the blue to even out)

then after i save again im gonna get anouther 4foot 4 bulb and use it at a angle with my outher 4 footer

for blue, look at the spd chart for whichever you're considering, and go with the cheapest. Almost every fluoro tube is heavy in blues as it is. I'd be willing to bet your 6500k is heavy in the 440-460 range so I'd say prob a ReefWave 420 to complete the range of blues, then your 6500k will provide the green/red. When you get the chance, I'd upgrade your 6500k to a similar bulb that is abit more heavier in red, like the RedWave, still a triband full spectrum bulb but it will cover the reds abit better so the overall output between the two is more even. Its hard to tweak a good mix of spectrum using only 2 bulbs.



? you're planning a full grow with a single 2x2' fixture ? I wont tell you its impossible but you may not be happy with the yield my friend.

growing for fun is just as fun Im curious how only 2 bulbs would turn out.. lemme know what bulbs you choose and keep us posted. You'll have a unique minimalist setup shit if you pull it off you'll have a whole army of stealth computer box growers praising you! you could prob stuff a 2ft fixture inside a big server shell.

im with indica on im not looking for amazing resaults as i know im not going to get them with he 4 bulb i got even tho its a 4 foot i know i can get good resualts and thats all im lookin for out of this and msby as i get higher exp in growing ill want better but for now ill have good resaults for me

also with me haveing a spare 150 hps to use as a top light rite away i mite not even use it as i want to do just a t5 grow then my next ill use the 150hps with the same strain to realy see how it mskes a diffrence but due to the heat problem ill probly only use the 150 in the winter when it gets cooler at nite here

but im realy excited i got my light and fan today so when my tent gets here i can set up the garden

There is this type of high power 65W plant grow bulb that works great!. Google "65w plant grow" Mix it with one 6500K 65w for veg.

Check out, Zoo Med Florasun. Also, aquamedic Plantgrow. Both of these bulbs will replace a 6500K bulb. They have added red to them for photosynthesis. They are basically a 6500K bulb with Red added to them. So to answer your question, 1 Aquamedic Plant Grow, 1 KZ Fiji Purple. I haven't had noticeable results with the Fiji purple yet to justify the cost, so I've found that 1 Aquamedic Plantgrow and 1 6500K bulb is sufficient. The 6500K bulb provides the blue.

Actinics have a slightly lower wavelength than plants can use for photosynthesis. The KZ Fiji Purple, or ATI blue plus would be a better choice than an Actinic only bulb. However, a 6500K or 6700K would have plenty of blue. The ratio that plants use for blue to red is about 10% blue and 90% red. So don't get to carried away with the blue.

Growing for fun is great, and you get free weed for it.
I wouldn't use 2bulb for life though..

Smallest fixture I found was like 26"x8"ish I think.

I do expect some nice top nugs though.. Fluorescent lighting can produce top quality meds, just not much of it, not very deep, and not as large.

I'm lucky (PNW) and summertime rarely peaks 90*F.
We do get ~100*F heatwaves though occasionally.

I'm going to check out these bulbs, I decided I'm just going to hunt down 1x Red Spectrum bulb,
and I'll have to decide on one.
Unless those Blue with Red bulbs are the shit.

Just a 5000k? It really doesn't look like I want to invest in this bulb.. I have a 5000k 40w CFL laying around..

indica - thats wha im lookin for is quality not quantity yes i kno you can get better quality with hid but for me just growing for me and girlfriend ill orolly get better resaults than i want out of the t5

in the future
i plan to utilize my tent to the fullest by haveing 2x 4foot 2 bulbs on the sides of the tent as side lights a 6bulb 4 foot on top and a 4bulb 4 ft on the back as side light - imo when all that is done i might have a compairable crop to hid lights might not be as much but i bet it will be very close and i also bet it wouldnt cost as much to run either

and justlet them inbreed until I have seedstock.

Those are wack. Look at the dimensions. The 8 bulb is 17 inches wide when the 4 bulb is 13 inches wide. I know all about growzebo. You are better off getting 2 4 bulbs from him. My badboy 8 bulb is 24 inches wide. If you want a good deal there are 6 bulbs on ebay for 120 plus shipping. They are 18 inches wide.

They seemed to cover all the bases except venting on the back side. Oh, well, we can drill some holes for that.

I very much like individual o/o switches. I saw a video on changing t5 bulbs. They recommend turning fixture off first. This could be part of Red Sun problem as the ignitor is hot and the end cap adhesive is poor, but MAY be ok, IF, the bulb was cool prior to removing.
