Texas advocates for Legalization: It starts with you

Decriminalised models are terrible IMO. The fact is that if you legalize it for all purposes, medical and recreational, then you can tax it and put money into infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and so on. It should be treated just like alcohol or tobacco. Regulated and sold to anyone over the age of 18 or 21. The fact is its less harmful to your body and society than alcohol or tobacco. Its been kept illegal for corrupt reasons and its time for prohibition to end PERIOD !!!

Agreed. Decrim is a surrender.

It is admitting that we are wrong in exchange for taking away the jail time for minor possession arrests. But, it's still illegal.

Which means:

Police harassment? Check.

Probable Cause searches? Check.

Civil Forfeiture? Check.

Piss tests? Check.

Fines? Check.

A record? Check.

Black market? Check.

Cartels? Check.

Jail time for growing? Check.

Civil Liberties? Nope.

It's a bad trade. A deal with the devil.

Not having any of it.

I think most have abandoned the decriminalised model and have adopted trying to get full legalization. There is no reason it shouldn't be legalized. I listed 10 very good reasons on the first page of this thread. In fact, at one time it was very much legal. Check out this great video on cannabis history.

But that's not really important here, as we have rehashed all of them here, many times over; over the years, on many threads.

There is a very good reason why I insist on using the term 're-legalization.'

Because cannabis was perfectly legal before Prohibition.

That site was merely the first I came across after Googling two of the ten you 'listed.'

But all were familiar already because we've all seen them before.

I was not talking about the video. But I would have if you claimed you had 'presented' it.

As I do not wish to "harsh your mello," I will move on.

So continue promoting online petitions and preaching to the choir with talking points we've all seen a thousand times before.

I am not preaching to anyone, just urging Texans to get involved in the movement and pass on the educational information. You are welcome to criticize as that is your right, just like I am able to pass on important info, as is my right.
