but there is no seed case. they all dropped off a day or two ago naturally.True, they may break out, but only if you keep the casing moist, but if left for too long the seedling will die.

There are fundamental differences, yet they are kinda the same, and the paper towel method is not the choice for cannabis or most any seed as far as that matters. In a pinch though the above advice applies.....
It has broken out of the seed casing yesterday and looks the same today; there is no seed 'SHELL' on them at this stage.. it just looks like the casings dropped off.. and the leaves never opened up.This is easy. If this is your first time grow, put on some sterilized gloves,(You never want to touch seedlings) Then lightly pull the seed casing off the plant. It should come off with no force at all. If you attempt to pull it off, and it doesn't just come off easily, then i would suggest misting the seedling so the shell absorbs the moisture and makes it easier to pull off. Good luck. Btw, this is just a seedling, it doesn't even look a week old. If you are really concerned, just leave it on. The leaves that are stuck inside the seed casing will eventually get strong enough and break out of the seed casing.

As Smoochie stated, the casing that everyone is referring to is a membrane which is the inner layer of the seed casing which surrounds the inner part of the actual seed and protects it! I have pulled off several with my finger tips and have never had an issue. If you are worried though, you may want to grab a tooth pick and give it a spray and let it sit for a few minutes before attempting to remove it. Just make sure you are gentile and delicate!I can't really see in the photo, but what may be there is this really thin almost invisible membrane (especially when dry) that lines the interior of the shell. Sometimes this stays on the seedling and shrink wraps it. When you pull it off you can't believe you missed it, it blends in so well. Good luck!

I wouldn't wait much longer, as your stems seem to be getting long trying to find some light!
