DIY cool tube made from 2L glass beer bottle

i run a 600w in a 4x3x5 and its fine your space might be more suited for a 400w but if you're on top of your temps than i dont see why not.

if you're unsure of what your temps are gonna be like i'd opt for the 400w. just my opinion based on my experience

My temps are fine, just curious if people think I should be kicking a bigger space? Wasted light perhaps?

Do you run your cool tube ventilation separate or inline with your room exhaust? This is what i'm debating right now

i run inline with my room exhaust.. i dont use a carbon filter cause i dont have many guests, but the ones i do dont seem to mind
i use a custom 6'' mesh so no dust and particles fly thru my hood.
a seperate exhaust is ideal if you're running co2 but if not its not necessary

I wonder how a wine bottle would work...

They don't make them anymore, but now and then you can find one on Ebay or at a garage sale or something. There used to be a Pyrex bread baking 'pan' that was a hollow glass tube almost the exact size of a standard CoolTube. It made the perfect DIY tube since it was Pyrex, and therefore resistant to very high temperatures and because it was virtually the exact size of a CoolTube, so it was almost like getting a kit CoolTube rather than an assembled one. There wasn't any 'make it fit, if I only had something a little smaller' stuff to go with it.

Pyrex cool tube was the inspiration for me. I saw a thread where guy did that and then I realised that I have to create my own cool tube. But I didn't want to mess with ebay and pay money them. I asked my dad how to cut the bottle and he told me this method. He told They've made candle holders for graveyards. I understood that this method would perfectly fit to make a tube by myself. Bottle was on the top of kitchen closet, because I didn't want to throw it away after I made it empty. Wool string I borrowed from sister who knits. And acetone I found at work. Tell me - why to go ebaying?

And it wouldn't be CRAZY cool tube anymore if I received it at post office in dark brown or yellow package.
