Harvest Time ...

Afternoon!

First time grower and i reckon a couple of my girls are nearly ready for the chop, they are roughly 30% brown hairs now, i don't have a microscope so i'm going purely on the amount of brown hairs, is this good enough?

Second dilemma is drying them, i've made 2 boxes with string going across and found out they need to be in a dark place at room temperature for a week, the only dark place i have in my house is the cellar which is quite cold and damp.

Can i put them in an upstairs bedroom and just close the boxes?
Maybe cut some biggish holes in the box for air to get in?

Cheers

Hard to go on hair color alone...just look closely to make sure its not all clear looking, and wait for your calyxes to swell up well...that will give you a better indication of when its time to chop...if you are running an indica dominant strain you can also go about 10-12 weeks from when you flip to 12/12 in general...so you know approximately when to start looking to harvest :)

You can use brown paper bags to dry in if you cant find a suitable space to hang in...the idea is to have the plants take a good week to dry.

More like 70% of brown hairs... are the fan leaves turning yellow and dropping off?... I agree with the Paper Bag... I dried my latest grow in paper bags and works wonders!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

And if you don't have any paper bags...just ask for them the next few times you go grocery shopping and save them ;)

I'm in the UK so we dont get brown bags, we get plastic bags!
It's a sativa strain (big bud)
It's been in flower for 14 weeks!!!
Yes the leaves are turning yellow and falling off....
So can i put them in brown paper bags and just leave them in there for a week?
Keep them in a dark room at room temp?

You can probably still buy some or many stores have them to put certain items in just ask.
I have just started a Big Bud seedling, let me know how it turns out.

Im in Spain and they don't have any Paper Bags over here either... but I found some in the end! :)
I just put my ganja in the Paper Bags... not too much in each Bag.... like a quarter full or less... and left the bag standing and Open inside my cupboard... Dried really nicely! I shook the bags a bit every day to move the weed around and that was it! A week or so later ... I had nice dry buds!
